The Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is during ongoing transformation that will change the dynamic of how GPO engages with its stakeholders. This transformation is necessary to keep up with the fast-changing environment, develop into a digital organization, meet the Board’s ambitious growth plans, and support SAP’s strategy.


The Travel Team is responsible for all travel related aspects globally and has end-to-end responsibility for the travel process. 
Focus Areas are Travel Management Company, Payment Solutions, Hotel Program, Air Program, Ground Transportation, Car Rental, Travel Policy & Governance, Service & Support, Process, Visa, Online Booking and Expense for any Travel related services
Travel relevant purpose

  • Develop, execute and implement the strategic direction of the Global Travel Program, aligning, maintaining, and enforcing processes, policies and procedures at a global and local level. 
  • Overall responsible for managing travel vendors, driving innovation into the organization to improve the traveler experience, reduce costs, and increase overall value.
  • Drive opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased service quality.
  • Keep abreast of trends with the market within and across the industry, evaluate good practices 
  • Coordinate the implementation and facilitation of all Travel Programs.



  • Coordinate and manage the interaction with Global, Regional and local Market Travel Operations, Suppliers & Business Partners
  • Manage the collaboration and communication with local markets, facilitating global governance, setup, guidelines, processes, procedures
  • Lead the ownership of selected strategic relevant elements of the travel program, constantly improve and challenge status quo
  • Act as trusted business value enabler for key stakeholders, regional and local CFOs 
  • Overall responsible for associated reporting and analysis 
  • Manage to evolve and facilitate Travel Programs 



  • Strong Leadership and focus on retention and development of amazing talents 
  • Solid knowledge and expertise in business travel (Large Enterprise) required
  • Strong customer focus, presentation skills and business acumen 
  • Highly developed collaboration and communication skills 
  • Open-minded and willing to drive change
  • Excellent Project Management expertise



  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in global and multinational organizations 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience and knowledge in the Business Travel area including managing of Travel related services, implementing, and executing global strategies
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a manager or at least leading without authority
  • Very strong knowledge of travel processes and ability to relate strategic business goals to operational challenges and measurable travel business impact
  • Very strong verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with executives and team members
  • Experience working in a fast-paced complex environment, ideally from a Services Technologies background
