About the team
The SAP HANA Cloud Innovation team creates ways and means to bring together Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Native capabilities with the SAP HANA database engine, SAP’s ground-breaking in-memory, multi-core database platform, which provides a powerful foundation for SAP products in the cloud and on premise. Being part of the SAP HANA team means constantly driving innovation and working on complex technical challenges every day.

 

The role

  • Investigation and comparison of high-availability concepts of existing L4/7 proxy solutions with focus on continuity of connections in case of failovers
  • Evaluation of IP failover methods available on major hyperscalers 
  • Prototypical development of a fail-safe and high-performant SNI proxy using eBPF, AF_XDP and Go
  • Redundant connection state management in real-time for routing IPIP, VXLAN and direct traffic
  • Integration with Kubernetes networking components (e.g. Calico)
  • Ensure easy deployment and rolling updates in Kubernetes clusters


Role requirements

  • Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
  • Preferred fields of study: Computer Science
  • Fluent in English, German as a plus
  • Enhanced knowledge of Linux networking
  • Experience with programming languages C/C++ and/or Go
