We are a diverse team of experienced technical writers providing quality documentation for our SAP HANA database features. Our team’s mission is to deliver a consistently pleasant, seamless, and intuitive user experience for SAP’s database portfolio. We develop user-centric designs and clear, comprehensive knowledge materials and stretch the boundaries of product documentation with in-app help, graphics, videos and other formats.


As a global team, we cultivate an open and communicative atmosphere, where each team member is empowered to work independently on specialty topics, yet in close collaboration across locations and roles.


The role

As a technical writer on our team, you will be able to put your language and communication skills to paper by writing documentation for users, developing online help, manuals and tutorials. Your work will also entail research and definition of terminology as well as text and user interface editing.

Role requirements

  • University degree in technical writing, IT, communications, new media, or a related subject
  • Excellent English skills, German intermediate
  • Ideally >2 years experience authoring technical documentation
  • Practical experience working in DITA
  • Familiarity with databases and related tools
  • Proven ability to work on deliverables in parallel with multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines
  • Enjoy contact with people and passing on your knowledge to others


You may also bring in additional skills from experience with content creation for social media or production of videos and infographics. In terms of work ethics, you are dependable, helpful, and you value knowledge sharing with colleagues.


Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
