About the team
The S/4HANA Security team is defining and driving the security for the Intelligent Enterprise, built for the digital era to run in a cloud, hybrid or on-premise environment. 
The team’s mission is to ensure that SAP S/4HANA continues to set the standard for security for next generation ERP systems, which run the core business services of our customers. 
Pursuing this mission, the security team is fully integrated into the S/4HANA development process and drives security measures with the various stakeholders within SAP and beyond, including external stakeholders, partners and SAP’s customers.
The Role
As a Product Security Engineer Associate, you will support the implementation of future security capabilities for S/4HANA and attached cloud-native extensions. A basic understanding of security concepts incl. threats and vulnerabilities, their root causes and means to identify and remediate will be the basis for your tasks.
You will have a strong focus on technological security aspects within SAP’s Secure Software Development and Operations Lifecycle (SDOL). You will support in analyzing solutions on their security capabilities as well as the evaluation of security issues with regards to criticality and exploitability. You will develop proficiencies to design, implement, and maintain safeguards and countermeasures (e.g., via automation) with a feedback loop into the development organization.
You will support and provide guidance to Developers and Security Product Owners related to security controls. In your role you will be a supporting factor within the continuous improvement of our secure development practices.
The S/4HANA Security Team is shaping the future of security in the SAP S/4HANA unit. Being part of the team, your responsibilities may include engineering activities for a Dynamic Application Security Testing Tool, planning and assisting external penetration tests and supporting SDOL improvements by technical and organizational means. This also includes products running on the SAP Business Technology Platform and integration scenarios of the Intelligent Enterprise. 
Role Requirements

  • Knowledge of foundational security concepts (security properties, risks and threats, vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and mitigations)
  • Sound programming skills for at least one language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, ABAP, Python)
  • Ample understanding of Web-based architectures
  • Experience in applying security concepts – like secure session handling and authorization controls – is a plus
  • Application of practice in a secure software development lifecycle is a plus (e.g., security training, threat modeling, code scans, penetration testing, etc.)
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Fluent in German and English is required
  • Strong focus on quality and goal-oriented behavior

Work Experience
Basic proficiency with security concepts, tools, and procedures.
0-3 years of experience working in product security area.
