ROLE DESCRIPTION

Business Development Experts provide leadership and drive the execution of growth plans across the target market for both Software and Cloud environments cross- industry and customer segment.  Define our competitive advantage and establish the key reasons for customers and prospects to leverage cloud deployment models and other innovative technologies to achieve strategic business objectives.  Guide efforts to develop local capabilities with time, enabling market leadership to respond most quickly to growth opportunities. Drive syndication of best practice programs, tools, methods and processes to accelerate profitable performance and market penetration. Identify, evaluate and execute on investment opportunities.

  • Area 1: Identify and advocate new growth levers and value delivery opportunities.  Develop customized business development offerings. Execute on the evaluation, negotiation and execution of new opportunities and business models. Execute on new initiatives that drive growth and new sources of demand.                                     
  • Area 2: Responsible for the day-to-day execution of the approved growth plan, coordinating the transformation program work streams including: solution and strategic industry growth plans, field Services & ecosystem development plans, top accounts program, product localization, HR development among others.
  • Area 3: Support the development of business cases for new investment decisions through due diligence evaluations and other research activities. Responsible for providing the applicable data to operations teams to be consolidated into the monthly or quarterly reporting repositories/ dashboards.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive growth and pipeline in the team, incl. planning DemGen activities together with Sales and Marketing 
  • First point of contact for selected MU Sales Teams
  • Take on special topics to drive pipeline growth and quality (e.g. LBN/AIN, S/4, BTP, etc.)
  • Data champion of your MU – Monitor pipeline & performance, drive activities for pipeline generation
  • Identify new business potential and opportunities to drive market growth
  • Creative, hands-on approach to driving sales programs, campaigns and DemGem
  • Drive Business Development Initiatives, partner with ecosystem (e.g.. Global Experts, SolMgt, VA, Partners, etc.) for input and scale
  • Responsible for identifying performance improvement ideas and working with the leadership to implement the ideas

Experience & Language Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in enterprise software sales, sales enablement industry operations, and corporate development
  • Proficient understanding of SAP, its products and solutions, partners, markets and competition
  • Excellent communication and advanced negotiation skills. Demonstrated success in working in a matrix environment
  • Fluency in German and English, any other language of local markets is an asset
  • Analytical Skills and strong Excel skills required

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Computer Science required from an accredited university. MBA or advanced degree in related discipline preferred
