Senior Solution Specialist/Expert (f/m/d) IBU Automotive Catena-X Demand & Capacity Planning

Walldorf or Munich are possible SAP locations for this role. 


SAP runs its Go-to-Market (GTM) with a clear focus on industry specific needs. Therefore, the mission of this unit is to define, build and deliver industry solutions that support industry core processes and provide industry-specific capabilities.


We work with different business units within SAP but also with our ecosystem in a joint “Power Couple” model to the success and growth of these solutions and SAP’s success in the automotive industry overall.


As Senior Solution Specialist/Expert (f/m/d) for the IBU Automotive your core responsibility will be to do all of the above for a set of solutions in the area of UBN for Automotive/Catena-X use cases, specifically usage of SAP’s Demand & Capacity Planning solutions. 
This includes:

  • Analyzing, understanding and documenting the UBN-Auto / Catena-X requirements
  • Defining solution scope, capabilities and architecture together with the UBN-Auto program
  • Working with UBN-Auto / Catena-X partners on a daily basis
  • Managing the development progress, timelines and deliverables for the Catena-X scope
  • Working with our field organization in the market units to build and execute a GTM plan to ensure relevance, market value and the successful adoption of the end to end UBN-Auto and SAPs Automotive solutions
  • Working with our Catena-X partners to identify and manage areas of contribution both in the build and operation of the UBN-Auto solutions


We are looking for a dynamic individual who are highly motivated by the opportunity to analyze critical industry trends, shape business and technology innovations jointly with the leading organizations of the industry, translate business requirements in solution capabilities – and thereby making a real and tangible difference for our Catena-X partners and future customers.




  • Bachelor or Master degree or comparable experience
  • Solid understanding of the Automotive industry, key trends, changing business models, opportunities and competitive landscape (5+ years professional working experience)
  • Thorough knowledge of SAP industry solution portfolio, products, technologies and latest SAPs innovations (> 6 years), with a special focus on:
        - IBP Planning
        - Production & logistics planning
        - SAP Automotive Industry Solution Portfolio (OEM / Supplier)
        - SAP BTP
        - Ariba and similar cooperation networks
  • Strong customer centricity; understand their business goals and challenges; map solutions to those goals and in relief of the challenges
  • Experience in either software solution management, software development management or application consulting
  • Willingness to work at both strategic and tactical levels 
  • Ability to leverage internal SAP-network across the globe
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent English language skills are mandatory, other languages are a plus
