PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Technology & Innovation (T&I) is responsible for SAP’s overall platform and technology development such as SAP Cloud Platform and SAP HANA. In addition, T&I drives the incubation and adoption of intelligent technologies and business services like Analytics, Machine Learning or IoT across SAP’s product portfolio. The T&I board area is also in charge of SAP’s global innovation agenda and builds new business model- and market driven innovations to help customers realize the most business value.
Our T&I Cloud Operations team, with locations in Bangalore, Sofia, Walldorf, Berlin and Vancouver, is 
in the heart of SAP Cloud Platform service delivery. In close collaboration with various development teams, Cloud Engineering team drives Incident & Problem Management of productive SAP Cloud Platform Services. 
For our growing T&I Cloud Operations team, we are looking for (Associate) DevOps Engineer for onboarding & customer communication in Walldorf. We are looking for an open-minded talent, who is interested in:

  • supporting development teams according to IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices
  • working with the latest Cloud technologies and architectures
  • applying DevOps principles as part of your daily work

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As (Associate) DevOps Engineer for onboarding & customer communication, you will take care that newly developed functionalities can technically get used by our customers & partners in SAP’s Cloud Platform. You enable the SAP Cloud Platform services for customer communication processes. Doing so, you ensure that our customers receive important maintenance or downtime information in quality and in time.
You will actively take over the fundamental content development for our cloud landscapes in SAP’s cloud operation management system. Being aware of our customer expectations, you ensure the quality of the maintained data via adequate testing or other quality measures.
To be successful, you always know about the status of your backlog pipeline including due dates and adapt it continuously. You help the development teams to provide the required information by doing appropriate education, documentation and supervision.
You are interested in continuous improvement: You contribute to continuous quality reviews to increase the reliability of our landscapes as well as assessments of customer and partner feedback.
You are going to interact with our development and infrastructure teams as a trusted partner and service provider, applying DevOps principles as part of your daily work.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required skills

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts, in particular for Cloud deployments
  • Strong quality focus
  • Strong customer focus, good communication and presentation skills. 
  • Fluent in English and German – written and verbal.

Preferred skills

  • Experience with content management processes
  • Good documentation skills
  • Familiarity with “configuration as code” concepts
  • Background in IT Service Management. 
  • Self-driven and autonomous working style
  • Experience with a cloud product either in development or operations.
  • Proactive, team player and open-minded.
  • Fresh ideas and innovative thinking with a “Can-do” attitude and thinking outside of the box.
  • Experience with creation & implementation challenges of standardization and/or process standards
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work under time pressure.
