The role

We are looking for a smart, quality conscious student in the field of communications, technical writing, languages, or informatics. We offer you a full-time job as a thesis student for four to six months in an inspirational learning and working environment. During this time, you will work closely with the development teams and user assistance colleagues.  For the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model guide, we want to develop a Search Engine Optimization strategy that helps our customers to find our content efficiently and easily with internal and external search engines. We want you to develop and implement an SEO strategy for our development guide that helps us to optimize our content for searching.

You will:

  • Outline the scientific foundation of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for technical documentation
  • Derive a general SEO strategy that is optimized for the documentation environment and setup of SAP
  • Implement the SEO strategy for the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model development guide
  • Analyze and outline future opportunities to optimize content for internal and external search


Role requirements

  • Preferably student (f/m/d) of technical writing or studies related to languages/programming/communications
  • Interest in software engineering and programming
  • Strong skills and fluency in English and German, ideally first-language proficiency in English
  • The ability to express complex technical information in a clear and precise manner
  • Strong interest in copy editing technical texts written by non-native English speakers 
  • The ability to learn new skills at short notice and deliver on time in high quality 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience of MS Office applications, especially MS Word and MS PowerPoint


Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please describe as well your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
