PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES


As part of the Board Area Intelligent Enterprise Group the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) development team builds solutions that help our customers to streamline existing GRC processes, address regulatory requirements and reduce risk during their digital transformation.
With teams in Palo Alto, Walldorf, Shanghai and Brno, our team offers a dynamic, international environment with opportunities for continuous learning and career development. We maintain an informal work culture with flat hierarchies and regular team events. Direct interaction and close collaboration with customers and end users is a given during our development cycles.
We are building the future generation of GRC solutions as cloud native applications. In line with the SAP strategy, the solution is planned to leverage SAP Cloud Platform as development environment.


For our teams in Walldorf, we are looking for an Associate Developer and can offer you the following opportunities:

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS


Your responsibility will cover all stages and tasks within the entire software development cycle at SAP, including the overall responsibility for your code through design, implementation, test, maintenance and operations.
Depending on your level of experience you will lead and contribute to efforts around the technical architecture, security architecture, agile development techniques and concept definition of the new solution. Your willingness to collaborate with customers, end-users and other development teams is a must to bring the solution forward.
You need to be comfortable to work in a (new) dynamic environment, guide with your expertise, establish standards in your team, share your knowledge, motivate other team members, build consensus, while being open to new ideas and approaches at the same time.


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES


Required skills

  • Degree (Bachelor, Diploma, Master) in information technology, computer or natural science, engineering or equivalent subject
  • Programming skills in Java / JavaScript / HTML5 / SQL (or similar)
  • Experienced in test-driven development, unit tests, continuous integration & delivery, committer/contributor model and pair programming, knowledge in using Git and GitHub
  • Excellent comprehension, willingness and ability to learn new subject matters quickly
  • Fluent in German and English - verbal and written

 

Preferred skills

  • Ability to align and work with colleagues across teams in multiple different locations
  • Experience with SAP Cloud Platform development and deployment processes is a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of network, internet technologies and distributed systems
  • Readiness to analyze issues on multiple layers ranging from applications, services to operating system level in the code and at runtime
