PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Today, intellectual property (IP) of third parties (e.g. commercial software products, open source) plays an essential part in SAP's strategy to achieve revenue goals, to support and complement SAP's product portfolio, and to become more productive. Since the management of third party IP and the associated risks is mission critical to SAP's success the Product Standard Licensing has been established.
This Product Standard defines the licensing & approval process for all third party IP that will be integrated into or shipped with SAP solutions. Global Licensing owns this Standard and its implementation.
Global Licensing is responsible for all aspects, particularly the compliance around the use and licensing of third party IP and the corresponding processes. In addition, Global Licensing defines the requirements for automating the respective licensing processes.

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Manage and oversee complex licensing projects E2E
  • Analyze and implement new tools for process automation and reporting as part of a project team
  • Contribute to mission critical projects representing Global Licensing matters
  • Analyze processes and make process improvement recommendations
  • High level review of the technical integration of third party IP
  • Explore and analyze legal as well as process topics around third party IP and make recommendations
  • Gather and document process and risk management requirements
  • Drive projects to success
  • Perform web services reviews
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Global Licensing related trainings, communication and strategy
  • Manage OSLN documentation process
  • Prepare risk / license evaluations with respect to third party IP or other Global Licensing areas and counsel internal employees
  • Check compliance with the Product Standards for third party IP
  • Manage process, guide development employees and handle any required approvals
  • As part of a project team analyze and establish rules & processes for new business models where third party IP is involved
  • Professional E2E project management
  • Liaison between development, legal, sales to ensure alignment and to capture requirements

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Professional experience of min. 3-4 year in an international company
  • Management of cross-functional projects is a plus

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in, Business, Law, Management of Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Profound knowledge of SAP’s product standards, development tools and processes
  • Basic expertise in open source or other third party licensing terms
  • Strong understanding of SAP’s products, technologies, strategies and business models
  • Strong knowledge & multiple year work experience in project and process management; certification is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of programming and software architecture
  • Experience with systems analysis technics and tools
  • Fluent in English and German is mandatory
  • Strong organization, communication and presentation skills
  • Team player/interpersonal skills

  • Analytical skills and supportive attitude
  • Ability to independently drive and manage large projects
