PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Global Tax covers a broad range of tax related topics, including tax returns, tax audits, group reorganizations, transfer pricing and various reporting duties. The essential tasks of Global Tax include the evaluation of tax strategies and tax planning for the Group. Global Tax collaborates closely with Global Controlling, Corporate Financial Reporting, Global Treasury and Global Legal.

The Group Tax Reporting Team is responsible for the worldwide coordination of quarter-end and year-end closings and for the preparation of the tax sections in our interim and annual reports. In addition the Group Tax Reporting Team is responsible for the implementation of any relevant adjustments in the IFRS standards and supports various projects, especially of the M&A Tax Team.

The Senior Tax Specialist Group Tax Reporting is dealing with complex tax reporting topics within the Global Tax Team in SAP’s HQ in Walldorf and will be reporting to the Director Group Tax Reporting. This position does not include personnel responsibilities.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

The tasks within the Group Tax Reporting Team include:

  • Handling of all tax-related issues in accounting and reporting according to IFRS
  • Support preparation of quarterly tax closings (IFRS, preferably also German GAAP)
  • Ensure the alignment of tax reporting in our subsidiaries in Germany and abroad as well as on consolidated level
  • Preparation of tax related sections in interim and annual reports
  • Support of complex projects with regard to tax reporting topics, especially relating to M&A projects

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • University degree (or comparable) in business studies
  • Preferably Qualified Tax Advisor or comparable qualification
  • Preferably deep knowledge of international tax law (and preferably also German tax law)
  • Familiarity with tax accounting and reporting acc. to IFRS (and preferably also German GAAP)
  • Innovative “solution seeker” rather than a “problem definer”
  • Ability to work independently and under time pressure
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluently in English (and preferably also German)

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • At least five to eight years working experience, preferably in international tax consulting firm or tax function of a multinational company with a focus on tax accounting and reporting and M&A tax.
