SAP Concur, market leader in integrated travel, expense, and invoice management, has embarked on a journey to re-imagine business travel. In an industry that’s becoming increasingly more complex with suppliers launching new differentiated product bundles and rich merchandising offers, we have an opportunity to completely re-think the end-to-end shop and book experience. We are building our next generation Online Booking Tool from the ground up and in new technologies to guide the business traveler, make informed decisions while helping companies meet their objectives around policy compliance and budget control.

We’re looking for Software Engineering Manager to help build next-generation microservices using cloud-first concepts and technologies including containerization, serverless architecture, and increased use of NoSQL data stores. You are organized, positive, creative, and focused on the user at all times. You know when to make decisions and when to ask questions. You’re obsessed with detail and love finding new ways to solve users’ problems. Above all, you love to build terrific products.

  • Work effectively with Technical Product Managers to own & ensure delivery against agreed priorities.
  • Build high performing teams by attracting, hiring, retaining and coaching top talent.
  • Grow team and guide the career development of team members, including both technical and interpersonal skills necessary for being effective and successful in a professional -software engineering organization.
  • Provide systematic and direct individual performance feedback focused on recognition of achievement and opportunities for growth.
  • Own cloud services end to end, delivering distributed systems using AWS services and best practices such as zero-downtime production deployments, canaries, frequent deployments, and feature-flag-driven development.
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master’s Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).
  • Outstanding professional software engineering experience with 3+ years of managing engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end solutions from design through delivery.
  • Very good understanding of one or more of Golang, Java, Kotlin, Typescript and other modern programming languages.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with technical product managers, architects, and technical teams across different product areas.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, compliance, open-source technologies and frameworks.
  • DevOps mentality with an understanding of Continuous Delivery and Observability
  • Good knowledge with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and a broad array of AWS primitives such as EC2, AMIs, EKS, Dynamo, etc.
  • Experience in Travel Technology domain is a plus.
  • Excellent communication in English
