Meet your team

The Garden Linux team is a team of Linux enthusiasts at SAP which has emerged from the Gardener and IronCore teams because of the need to have a minimalistic and highly secure Linux distribution for those projects. Our team is distributed across Walldorf and Munich. If you are also enthusiastic about Linux, we can’t wait to meet you and include you amongst our team of dedicated and diverse experts. If you work with us, you can expect the flexibility you need to bring in everything you are and everything you might become.

Garden Linux – What it is all about

Gardener is an Open-Source Kubernetes management solution by SAP. Gardener supports deploying Kubernetes clusters on different hyperscalers and proprietary virtualization platforms. Garden Linux is the operating system of choice for running containerized workloads at SAP. It is available for all virtualization platforms supported by Gardener on x86_64, with ARM support in the making. It is a minimalistic operating system based on Debian with the sole focus on running containers and virtual machines with maximum security. While Garden Linux is already hosting massive workloads there are still many ideas that we need to implement. If you’re curious, check out our open source repos at https://github.com/gardenlinux.
