Q: How does the hiring process look like?

A: Our hiring process is dependent on the role and location, but in all instances your first point of contact will be your SAP recruiter. If you are suitable for an open role, a recruiter will contact you and explain the specifics of the hiring process including online interviews and any assessments required.

Q: Where do I find job postings in SAP’s Ecosystem?

A: You can find open job postings on ForeignExpert and on FreshFacesFromUkraine. For more info visit each site.

Q: What can I do if I am uncertain what kind of jobs are suitable for me?

A: If you are uncertain what kind of skills are required for specific jobs, SAP offers a tool called the “Skill Matcher”. You can find the skill matcher here by scrolling down right below Job Opportunities.

Q: What can I do if there aren’t any suitable job opportunities on SAP’s career site at this time?

A: If you have not found a position, matching your qualifications and/or personal aspirations, you can register on our SAP job portal to get mails with newly uploaded jobs regularly based on your preferences here.

Q: What language skills do I need to be able to apply?

A: Unless there are any specific language requirements stated on the job description, the only language requirement is English. You should have a good level of both written and spoken English.

Working Practices

Q: Am I allowed to work from home?

A: In 2021 SAP announced its Pledge to Flex highlighting our inclusive environment in which people can work flexibly. All our employees are empowered to run at their personal best, driving success for SAP’s customers. Some limitations may be subject to local labor law or due to the kind of job you are working.

Q: I may need to take time off during work – special care for my children, authority visits etc. - is this allowed and how is it organized?

A: As part of the SAP pledge to flex, flexible work schedules can be agreed upon with the manager, so employees can decide when they work aligned with business and specific role needs. This helps employees navigate with their private life notable events in mind.

Q: I wish to apply but do not know how my children will be looked after during my working hours. Does SAP provide childcare assistance or childcare contacts?

A: Local governments are working on increasing capacities in public schools and kindergartens. In Germany the childcare portfolio at SAP will also be expanded and your recruiter will be able to explain these. Further information regarding benefits will be communicated right after the start of your time within SAP in our Onboarding Program.

Q: Do I need to open a local bank account for pay-out of my salary?

A: Yes, you need to set up a local bank account for the payment of your salary.

Q: Do I need to have a COVID-19 vaccination to work at SAP? Can I get vaccinated at SAP?

A: As of February 2022 Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria do not need a vaccination status for work within commercial subjects. For other countries, please check the official governmental information. 

With your residency document, you will get free access to Public Health systems once registered. After registration to the public health insurance system, you can be vaccinated in public vaccination centers (incl. COVID-19 vaccination).

In Germany the headquarters in Walldorf also offer COVID-19 vaccinations in the medical offices.
