ROLE DESCRIPTION
The (Digital) Event & Experience Marketing Senior Specialist is responsible for the event strategy of SAP Netherlands and is a key supporter of brand and experience initiatives.

 

Events, both physical and digital, are a crucial part of SAP’s marketing programs. They allow for a more intimate and engaging experience with our audience, enabling us to build new relationships and strengthen existing ones.

 

In your role you will initiate and own the roll-out of local events (e.g. Connect to Innovate, Experience Center Sessions, C-Level Engagements, Hospitality) in close collaboration with the local sales and marketing organization. This means the end-to-end management of these events. From concepting, to realizing the actual event, and guaranteeing the proper follow-up.

 

Next to that you will leverage and support our global events (e.g. SAPPHIRE NOW, SAP Select, SAP TechEd) and make those an integral part of your events strategy.

 

In the role of (Digital) Event & Experience Marketing Senior Specialist, you are part of the Brand & Experiences Team. Although there is a heavy focus on (digital) event management in your role. In the future the role can grow towards inclusion of broader responsibilities, with the focus on brand and customer experience.

 

Expectations for the Brand and Experiences Marketing team members are related to support the planning, development, content creation, project management, financial healthy practice and successful implementation of clearly defined marketing programs and events for specific audiences, in full alignment with the SAP corporate strategy, the overall Marketing strategy and the specific annual strategy outlined for the area.

 
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • (Digital) Event Strategy Development
  • End-to-end Event Management (Concepting > Event Realization > Follow-up)
  • Works on large, complex activities, using demonstrated creativity and expertise and applying specialist professional knowledge to deliver high quality results
  • Includes external event agency management
  • Includes project lead or supervisory responsibilities
  • Includes senior stakeholder management
  • Includes content strategy development
  • Understands data preparation for marketing events and campaigns
  • Knows how to leverage social/inbound/digital marketing to drive awareness and participation
  • Understands that events need to drive results, meaning the event is not over when the last speaker steps off stage. We need to turn event engagements into new business opportunities.
  • Focus on our goals to attract the attention of new buyers and influencers, build demand, influence existing pipeline and drive adoption.
  • Knows how to set-up nurture and follow-up sequences, working closely with sales and business development (incl. lead handling and data analytics)

 
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Has a passion for organizing (digital) events!
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Fluent Dutch and English

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5-8 years of related experience  
  • Previous experience in Event Management and/or Marketing is crucial
  • Previous experience in B2B (IT/SaaS/High Tech) organization is an advantage
