PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP IT Infrastructure Team provides an essential function that is responsible for supporting SAP Concur product delivery to all our customers from our colocations and cloud environments. 

SAP IT Infrastructure Team supports the colocations and AWS Cloud environments that provide our customers with access to our products globally. We provide and support the hardware and software framework for our application teams to deploy our products on including servers, storage and networking using an in-house compute platform for self-service automated server builds. In addition, we provide the architectural and engineering expertise for building out new environments and for providing technical solutions within colocations and the AWS Cloud environments.

The Infrastructure Team is looking for a Security Architect in the USA. This person will have the responsibility for designing, building, testing, implementing and documenting security systems / processes for our IT infrastructure to ensure we meet our audit compliance and maintain our security plane. This work will include environments in our colocations and in AWS.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Work with architects, engineering teams and management to identify areas for security review and process improvements in our infrastructure
  • Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
  • Develop a complete understanding of a company’s technology and information systems
  • Determines security protocols by evaluating business strategies and requirements.
  • Work with architects and engineering teams on solutions for addressing security improvements
  • Design, build, implement and support enterprise-class security systems
  • Review’s system security measures and implements necessary enhancements
  • Provide solutions that simplify audit reporting and evidence gathering
  • Provide solutions that maintain or enhance our existing security plane
  • Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats
  • Perform or supervise vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments
  • Plan, research and design robust security architectures for any IT project
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations

 

To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and experience

  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
  • Consulting and engineering in the design and development of security best practices; implementation of security measures to meet business goals, customer needs and regulatory requirements
  • Identity and access management; tracking and creating/enforcing policies that govern access sensitive technology resources and information assets
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks associated with business processes, operations, technology projects and information security programs
  • Ability to function as an enterprise security subject matter expert who can explain complex topics to those without a technical background
  • Outstanding communication skills; strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Experience with AWS Cloud deployments and implementing security best practices using AWS technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field and 10 years of related experience

 

Preferred skills

  • Advanced IT security certifications
  • AWS security certifications / training
  • Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of NAS Storage – NetApp.
  • Knowledge of Network switches – Arista.
  • Experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, D42, Nexpose and Tenable applications.
  • International working experience

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field and 10 years of related experience
