PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

 

 

 

The primary purpose of the RVP Sales position is to cultivate a culture, methodology, and operating rhythm to consistently attain targeted revenue and profitability goals while staying committed to our mission of driving People & Customer Success. To accomplish these goals, the RVP must develop a specific vision and strategy to ensure growth within our customers, formulate objectives, performance standards and priorities for the Sales team and ensure that selling models facilitate market penetration.

 

 

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

 

 

 

Sets vision and strategy for the sales team; develop specific industry and territory plans to inspire growth in all revenue streams

Problem solver – ability to manage / solve complex and challenging dynamics internally as well as with our customers.

Builds a network of executive relationships with key customers and partners that can be leveraged to drive customer success

Provide thought leadership in discussing and communicating company strategy with the virtual account team

Work collaboratively with other internal teams within SAP, regional Sales teams, Marketing, Development, Center of Excellence, etc.

Create process and/or assist account team in identification, pursuit, negotiation, closure and implementation of new opportunities

Develop and share an effective internal network

Conduct territory / account reviews with team members and virtual team

Manage territory and account assignment

Provide coaching and account strategy support throughout sales cycle(s)

Facilitate individual growth and development

 

 

SALES CULTURE

 

 

 

Create an environment that celebrates and gives visibility to team members and customers across the South and within NA.  

Heavily market the team internally – underlining the role the team plays in driving SAP’s sustainable growth in the market and unrelenting focus on People and Customer Success.

Make the team a desired destination for recruiting and developing top talent.

 

 

PROGRAMS

 

 

 

Define and support creation of a roadmap and lifecycle for all customers focused on customer success and adoption of SAP solutions

Work across LOBs to provide a best practice ‘onboarding’ of our customers while driving consumption of all cloud applications within their environment.  

Work across LOBs to build an optimized engagement strategy to ensure short/medium term success with balanced participation and contribution every quarter.

Capture best practices and revise overall methodology as our engagement & support models evolve

Build a network of C-level relationships in Corporate customers of diverse size– leverage relationship to understand the experience from the customer standpoint and hone our sales approach, onboarding and customer success roadmap moving forward.

 

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

 

 

Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred

 

Minimum of 15 years related business software sales experience.

 

Minimum of 5 years management experience in a fast-paced, consultative and competitive team-selling environment required

 

Must have expertise in consultative selling methodologies

 

Prior experience in business application software sales also required.

 

The preferred location for this role is Dallas, Houston or Atlata

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 341600 - 701500(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
