Job Summary
The Ariba Senior Consultant is charged with project management, team management and quality of customer focused delivery, SAP Ariba solution expertise and capability development responsibilities.
The Senior Consultant leads one or more Software Implementation tracks across multiple ongoing customer engagements and may be required to work across regions. He/or she serves as SAP Ariba Solutions expert on application functionality, technical requirements and be the primary SAP resource managing stakeholder relationships during the course of an implementation. As a Senior Consultant, he/she will also take on responsibilities of mentoring others in/outside the team as needed.
A primary responsibility of the Senior Consultant is also helping with pre-sales effort which includes scoping, effort estimations and design discussions with clients, preparing Statement of work (Sow) and managing change requests based on scope, time line and effort variations. He/She would also help driving new Services bookings from existing and new customers by identifying customer needs.
Core to these skill sets is emotional intelligence, great project management skills and experience, deep commercial acumen, customer orientation, as well as the ability to manage and influence external and internal stakeholders, to deliver world-class service on a consistent basis.
The Senior Consultant serves as Ariba solutions specialist on application functionality. He/or she is responsible for contributing to the content and applying the SAP Activate methodology to meet customer needs within the realm and scope of the Statement of Work (SOW).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Focus
•Uses knowledge of customer’s business and industry to assess findings and shape solutions. Ensures client success within the realm and scope of the Statement of Work (SOW).
•Speaks to a variety of customers from different departments, at different levels, and in large or small groups (e.g., client project manager, technical team).
•Knows customer problems and anticipates their needs.
•Assists with identifying client issues.
•Recognizes the service needs associated with a client-focused business model.
•Dedicated to delivering exceptional results.
•Develops positive relationships with the client team while delivering tasks.
•Assists customers through the lifecycle of an Ariba implementation.
•Supports the design process with customers leveraging Ariba Best Practices as appropriate.
•Assists customers in the development of processes and procedures which leverage Ariba solution functionality being deployed.
•Contributes to functional and technical design documents.
•Participates in project management tasks to help ensure deliverables are on time, within budget.
•Shares knowledge and experience through training and communications with customers.
SAP Ariba Solution Expertise
•Builds solution, customer, and industry knowledge by leveraging the appropriate resources (internally at Ariba and externally at the client).
•Synthesizes learnings into a logical story using quantitative/qualitative data and/or sound reasoning.
•Communicates to effectively resolve problems or issues.
•Solves client problems by using Ariba solutions.
•Quickly learns new Ariba solutions in order to present them credibly and confidently to clients and Ariba consultants.
Teamwork
•Maintains regular communication with team members (e.g., face-to-face, via voicemails, emails)
•Proactively collaborates with teammates to anticipate and respond to issues that could impact solution delivery (e.g., change in scope, arising issues).
•Displays proactive communication with the client (i.e., face-to-face meetings and phone calls are more frequent than emails).
•Partners internal and external resources to optimize client impact.
•Proactively supports team members for the better good of the client engagement and Ariba.
•Assists in coordinating activities between the customer and Ariba internal teams such as Product and Technical Support, Field Technology, Product Management, and Education.
Basic Qualifications
•Strong experience in deploying SAP Ariba and/or SAP SRM/MM Solutions is mandatory. Exposure to S4/H and other ERP systems in relation to how Ariba works is huge plus.
•A minimum ten (10) years’ experience in systems implementation, cloud services deployment or a related discipline is required.
•Deep knowledge of Source2Pay domain, Spend Management and Procurement processes across Sourcing, Onboarding, Contracting and Operational Procurement is a must.
•Ability to independently manage senior level interactions within the organisation and customer organization is required.
•Demonstrated ability to successfully work with multi-functional teams is preferred.
•Experience in independently running projects is a plus
•Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
•Work experience using project management methods such as PMI or Prince2 a plus.
Basic Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
•Ability to travel 75% or more and work at client locations.
