Role definition

SAP Concur is looking for industry leaders willing to work with corporate customers’ Travel and Expense business and technology teams to deliver successful Concur T&E outcomes. The execution outcomes would include successful implementation and adoption of the Concur Travel & Expense Platform and its associated capabilities.


Build & Manage SAP Concur Implementation practice

  • Lead customer facing consulting teams responsible for execution of Concur projects, acting in the combined role of Program Manager and Functional SME.
  • Build a high-performance team including recruiting new team members and empowering the team.
  • Own business KPIs at a market / region level related to delivery excellence, time to value and cloud adoption
  • Ensure each consultants in the team delivers below project tasks within budget, as per schedule following necessary quality & process guidelines
    • leading project design session(s), understanding and analyzing client business requirements,
    • providing guidance and best practices on optimal configuration options to meet client needs, configuring the client’s site,
    • managing third-party and SAP Concur integrations
    • training clients and preparing for deployment of service to employees –
  • Responsible for articulating value and ensure delivery of business outcomes in line with expected revenue targets and successful adoption.

Maintain executive connect SAP Concur customers, sales & internal management stakeholders

  • Run Executive Steerco for high visibility projects, ensure regular management updates to customer & SAP leadership teams; identify project risks proactively and ensure appropriate risk mitigation plan
  • Collaborate with leaders from other lines of business-like support, product management, sales and distribution to ensure customer success and uniform messaging
  • Escalate issues to designated team contacts and/or cross-functional teams in a timely manner to ensure implementation issues are addressed early.
  • Work with Sales and Pre-sales teams during the sales lifecycle and support them in creating appropriate value proposition within the contours of available product features.
  • Collaborate with other members of the implementation team to develop and deliver web-based training/presentations covering a range of service topics (eg: product review, documentation updates and new releases).

Process Consulting 

  • Quickly ramp-up on new releases and product functionality to ensure successful implementation of these features for clients.
  • Ability to articulate complex business processes and provide solutioning for cases, along with situational workarounds having fitment issues.
  • Ability to Provide excellent product and process consulting.
  • Needs to influence product roadmaps by constantly interfacing with development teams, product management teams and sales requirements coming from pre-sales.
  • Contribute to special projects as needed to ensure successful service launches, improved internal processes/methodologies and on-going retention/satisfaction of client base.
  • Ability to understand the general value proposition of managed corporate travel, how an online booking tool can lead to employee buying behaviors that lead to cost optimizations for companies
  • Occasional Travel to customers as needed within India or in some cases for short assignments outside India

Education, Experience & Training required:

  • 5+ years of team management experience, should have owned business KPIs like profitability and adoption for a market. Management of business P&L is a plus.
  • Preferably Post Graduate with good academics.
  • Prior experience in Professional Services industry in customer facing role preferred
  • 6+ years’ experience in direct customer facing/consulting for international clients. Ability to be pragmatic to client requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience in project management in technology or travel industry, preferably with hosted web-based software

Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Operational planning ability to manage team capacity and incoming project loads is essential to succeed in this role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project and program management tasks in application implementation environment.
  • Excellent organizational and team planning skills along with good communication abilities is a must.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work deadlines under stressful circumstances.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an effective follow up system to ensure timely and accurate handling of the set of implementation projects under the team’s purview.

Work environment

  • Work for success of Concur customers in India and rest of APJ; manage escalations as well as handle objections on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to embrace different circumstances and work around shortcoming through innovative solutioning.
  • Ability to deliver a plethora of projects coming primarily from the Indian sub-continent along with the APA region in keeping with the set specific regional KPIs and performance delivery standards.
