What you’ll do

• Ramp-up on all aspects of ABAP Cloud, the development model to build cloud ready applications using ABAP.
• Validate features delivered for the ABAP community as the first customer with the intent to assess its quality, usability, and ease of consumption.
• Deliver customer and partner workshops, support with dedicated Q&A sessions.
• Provide consulting hour to help partners and customers in Asia-Pacific and Japan(APJ) with their queries on various aspects of ABAP Cloud including the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), Extensibility options for S/4HANA Cloud and Clean Core.
• Create/enhance blogs, developer tutorials and other rollout material.
• Ideate, design and build/enhance high quality reference custom applications that are used for partner/customer demos and also for publishing internal wikis and external rollout material
• Compile and publish best-practice guides (runbooks) on how to set up landscapes and processes wherever gaps exist.
• Working on problems of relatively complex scope, through general usage of standard programming concepts and principles
• Building upon domain knowledge and technical/proprietary skills to reach levels of expertise
• Having a logical approach to problem solving and can respond to detailed queries quickly but accurately
• Work with experts and build an end-to-end know-how on building clean-core compliant cloud-ready applications using ABAP

What you bring

• 3 - 7 years of relevant experience with Master’s/bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology majoring in Computer Science or Information Science or a master’s in computer applications, from a reputed institute, with excellent academic records
• Excellent Programming and Object-Oriented Design skills with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in ABAP/Java
• Classic ABAP knowledge with a focus on extensibility and custom code
• Strong modelling skills using UML is good to have
• Hands-on experience of writing high quality code along with units test [JUnit/AUnits]
• Strong in algorithms, data structures and database design concepts
• Strong quality focus with the ability to proactively identify scenarios that need improvement
• Strong communication and persuasion skills
• Questioning the status-quo with well-backed arguments is highly welcome
• Knowledge of GenAI whether through education or personal projects is good to have
• Understanding of UI5 development and Fiori Guidelines is good to have
• Demonstrated ability to work with the team in the design and development of the product
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver with high quality
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and an appetite for learning

As a part of ABAP Platform Enablement and Integration team of the BTP ABAP Developer Tools unit,

• We are committed towards maximizing the value derived by our partners and customers developing products or extensions using ABAP. Primarily, this includes the SAP S/4HANA Cloud ABAP Environment, SAP BTP ABAP Environment, and key user tools for SAP S/4HANA.
• We work towards ensuring a highly valuable delivery of features that are functionally cohesive, well integrated, easy-to-use and addressing product gaps. 
• We do this by acting as the first customer, developing reference application(s) which integrate features delivered for ABAP developers. Our customer-like integration scenarios help us provide key insights to the relevant stakeholders within SAP and help improve the delivery before it reaches SAP customers and partners.
