JOB TITLE: Development Expert

Position Overview

This is a Development Expert role with immense potential for growth. The potential candidate would work closely with other members of the team and other functional groups within SAP SuccessFactors and SAP other teams.

  • Makes independent decisions on architectural problems and methods.
  • Performs assignments that may require the development of new or improved architectural techniques and procedures
  • Identifies, evaluates, and implements solutions using application best practices, current architectures, and technologies to meet current and future needs
  • Works and communicates with cross-functional teams to accomplish assignments
  • Guides junior members in the team to achieve project goals

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical vision and strategy within Cloud HCM product team and influence technology and Innovation
  • Make independent decisions on architectural problems and methods; contributes to the development of new or improved architectural techniques
  • Work and communicates with cross-functional teams across the world to accomplish assignments
  • Own complete software development lifecycle – designing, leading implementation and testing of new features within a fast paced, agile environment
  • Ensure the delivery of quality releases; define and execute against project plans and delivery commitments;
  • Guide junior members in the team to achieve project goals

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech, MCA with 60% aggregate across.
  • Strong educational qualifications (Engineering majors, MCA from reputed institutes)
  • 8-12 years of overall software development

Skills & Competencies

  • Prior success as a software engineer, subject matter expert, and strategic influencer on the direction of the product design and development
  • History of engineering cultural change including CI/CD, Chaos Engineering, and Microservices or API first development
  • Manage discreet application development teams to meet the needs of business needs at the appropriate levels of sourcing
  • Strong technical skills with technologies like Java/J2EE, Hibernate, Spring, SAP HANA, UI Technologies and OData protocols to develop modem cutting edge software that performs and scales in cloud environment
  • Server and Service oriented - Knowledge in Java backend development (tomcat, JEE, dependency injection, and more) mandatory
  • Sound knowledge in Object Oriented Programming Principles, Design Patterns and Software Architecture, especially in new age Cloud solutions
  • Capable of creating High level and low-level design document
  • Knowledge of lean development infrastructure process including Git, TeamCity,Jenkins etc..  and exposure to Continuous Delivery practices
  • Consistently improve all aspect of Non-Functional Requirements(NFR) associated with each feature of SaaS Application delivered on Public and Private Cloud
  • Have experience on performance tuning / troubleshooting based on profiling tool, like JProfiler
  • Capable of working in multinational team divided across different time zones and locations
  • Have good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Bonus if you have experience with:

  • Working knowledge of Scrum, Test Driven Development, performance testing or data correctness/integrity testing
  • Experience in Agile development process
  • Building software that has to scale to thousands of users concurrently
  • Experience in developing under micro-services architecture
  • Exposure to building large scale application deployed on public cloud like AWS , AZURE etc .
  • As part of S2DLC (Secure Software Development Cycle) Perform security scans for UI, Backend and Database vulnerabilities contribute to stakeholders responsible for security and risk assessments

Work Experience & Qualification

  • Requires 10+ years of professional experience in developing Java/J2EE based enterprise web-based application, 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
