THE ROLE:

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading, motivating, coaching, and empowering a development team.

  • Create an environment of education, trust, openness, agility, and motivation to form and continuously improve the development team you are responsible for with tenacity to solve problems in a result-focused way.
  • Experience communicating and coordinating with cross functional teams at engineer and executive levels
  • Partner with product management to develop new product delivery
  • Help with customer escalations, prioritize initiatives, align the technical function with business goal, ensuring optimal resource allocation to maximize the impact of all engineering efforts
  • Set clear goals with team members, inspire, and support them towards accomplishing these goals and evaluate goal achievement in a fair and understandable way
  • Possess a strong understanding of current technologies, aid understanding of issue root causes and provide necessary corrective action.
  • Ability to hire/maintain a strong technical Engineering team

 

ROLE REQUIREMENT:

  • 14+ years of experience in the design and development of Java based web applications, REST API and Database related technologies
  • 3+ years of progressive experience managing, leading, and mentoring a software development team in a hands-on technical management environment
  • Excellent presentation, documentation/technical writing and communication skills
  • Experience with designing and implementing Microservices with experience migrating monolithic components to microservices a significant plus
  • Experienced with cloud-native software design and tools
  • Subject matter knowledge in the domain areas of Human Experience Management is preferred

 

Over and above the technical skills mentioned above we are looking for strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail. You should have excellent written and oral communication skills together with good organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with global teams across different time zones is expected.

 

ABOUT THE TEAM:

This Engineering team is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the India based development team responsible for delivering platform/framework applications which can impact/influence the modules/applications of SuccessFactors HXM suite.
