What you'll do


IT Technology Services Senior Specialist – Availability Management acts as the Service Execution Owner / SWAT team member of  Problem Management (Zero Outage Room - ZOR), Critical Incident Management - CIM. The role is responsible to guarantee quickest possible service restoration for customers' business down situations and quickest possible Root Cause Analysis and remediation for major incidents. The role takes care of SAP-internal stakeholder communication by sending regular status and progress updates and liaises with other roles like ZOR Service Execution Owner, CIM Service Execution Owner, Event management Service Execution Owner, Incident Management Service Area Owner, Process Managers, Major Incident Managers, Managed Service Providers and Senior Management. The role coordinates and orchestrates continuous improvement across CIM, ZOR and other supporting units.

  • Deep dive into troubleshooting SAP Basis issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime and impact.

  • Develop and implement proactive monitoring strategies to predict and prevent potential issues before they arise.

  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, utilizing various tools and techniques to uncover the underlying cause of complex system problems.

  • Document findings and recommendations clearly, ensuring knowledge transfer and future prevention.

  • Maintain and optimize system performance, applying performance tuning techniques and best practices.

  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data, adhering to industry regulations and compliance standards.

  • Contribute to system upgrades and migrations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to diagnose and resolve cross-functional issues impacting SAP systems.

  • Stay current with the latest SAP Basis technologies and trends, actively seeking opportunities to improve the SAP landscape.

  • Mentorship and knowledge sharing: Guide and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative learning environment.


What you bring


  • 8-10 years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with a strong track record of troubleshooting and RCA expertise.

  • Good understanding of containerization concept and working knowledge about operations of Kubernetes.

  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex SAP Basis issues under pressure, meeting tight deadlines.

  • In-depth knowledge of SAP Basis concepts, functionalities, and administration tools .

  • Experience with SAP HANA and cloud-based SAP deployments preferred. Experience with non net weaver products is preferred.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, effectively working with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex projects.

  • Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of the curve in the SAP Basis landscape.
