JOB DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Technology & Innovation (T&I) board area is responsible for SAP Business Technology Platform – the platform for the Intelligent Enterprise that includes technologies like SAP Integration Suite, SAP Extension Suite, SAP HANA, SAP Analytics, and Intelligent Technologies. The T&I board area is also in charge of SAP’s global innovation agenda and builds new business model- and market driven innovations to help customers realize the most business value. 
Our T&I Cloud Operations team, with locations in Bengaluru, Sofia, Walldorf, Berlin and Vancouver, is responsible for the operations of all SAP Business Technology Platform cloud services delivered to our internal and external customers. We ensure the 7/24 System Monitoring, Incident management, drive improvements via our problem management process, create transparency via our reports, meetings and communication channels and support development teams with coordination on change management and cloud operation compliance topics. We work very close with all T&I product development teams according to the DevOps principles and have set-up our team in the SRE mode. On SAP level we drive and align process and tool improvements together with other cloud operation teams and all central teams. 

For our T&I Cloud Operations team in Bengaluru, we are looking for Cloud Operations Expert playing the role of a Program Manager and Senior Process Lead.

You will work in our Cloud Engineering Team and proactively drive automation, continuous improvement of productive landscapes and across all Cloud Ops Lifecycle processes – Onboarding, System Monitoring, Incident Management, Problem Management and Reporting. Key responsibilities will include driving high value global initiatives as a program manager across various topics bringing us closer to our cloud operations transformation goals.

We are looking for energetic result oriented, solution engineers with broad technical knowledge around PaaS (Platform), SaaS (Services), Infrastructure (IaaS) to develop and/or enhance critical components and Tools. Thought leadership and drive towards continual improvement would be expected to enable efficiency driven Cloud Operations that provide, protect and improve the software and systems behind productive services of SAP Busines Technology Platform with an ever-watchful eye on their availability, performance, and capacity.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Lead high value global projects – Automation and Data Driven Process Improvement initiatives

Define and execute strategy of the Cloud Ops Reporting topic globally

Advance Cloud Ops Onboarding topic globally to fast tack adoption to all logical products in BTP

Define, Design and develop resilient cloud operations processes - System Monitoring, Incident Management, Problem Management

Contribute to operations model/operational processes and procedures multi cloud platform and services with customer oriented mindset

Achieve effective results by engaging in continuous improvement activities
Work closely and collaborate across roles, functions, as well as with colleagues in other teams and countries

Role Requirements
•    Good understanding of ITIL processes
•    Good with execution of global projects, stakeholder management and timely delivery
•    Taking ownership and accountability of overall on-time delivery with quality, meeting KPIs and driving automation
•    Advanced analytical and problem solving skills to challenge complexity with Live Site first / Customer oriented mindset.
•    Experience in driving continuous improvements around monitoring, tooling, process and  handling impediments.
•    Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to work and contribute in globally distributed teams
•    Be responsible for driving technology and engineering best practices in the teams
•    Perform development tasks in a self-reliant way, on time, and in-quality, and be a go-to person in the team.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS 
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking and Security and with 9+ years of experience required.  

Required skills
Strong Project Management skills

Experience in handling Incident management & problem management process   
•    Good knowledge with Server & Virtualization technologies
•    Agility and Adaptability
•    Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving
•    Excellent experience working with hyperscalers like Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP.
•    Experience leading 24x7 team of strong and passionate engineers with strong customer-focus and KPI driven approach. 

Preferred skills
•    ITIL Foundation Certificate is a plus.
•    Good Knowledge with Cloud Computing is a Plus.

EXPERIENCE
•   9+ years of hands-on technical experience with working on large scale cloud operations
•   Hands on experience working with hyperscalers like Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP.
•   Good experience in designing and developing cloud operation tools.
•   Strong communication and presentation skills with experience working with globally distributed teams
•   Experience leading complex global projects
