WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

Our team is look to add an experienced engineer to focus on office build out and merger and acquisition (M&A) integration.  Your primary tasks include the roll out, coordination, deployment and continuous improvement of the global network infrastructure for new or expanding offices in the EMEA and APJ regions.  Close cooperation with other Regional Core Network Services team colleagues will be required to ensure that the network infrastructure is delivered in accordance with business requirements and global standards. 

To achieve these goals, you will provide your experience to avoid and overcome issues and work with second and/or third line support and implementation, including 3rd party resources.  While there could be some travel to perform these tasks most interactions and coordination would be done remotely.  An optimal candidate will have real world experience in physical cabling, LAN technologies, WAN circuitry and WAN carrier coordination.

  • Work as a part of our Global team to co-ordinate deployment of network services to new or expanding offices. Understand business requirements and work with various internal teams to meet project goals.
  • Work with carriers, building management and other stakeholders to install required circuits to support the business.
  • Project manage and coordinate the install of hardware including routers, switches, firewalls and other network equipment using 3rd party implementation staff. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise in physical cabling and carrier coordination for new builds.
  • Ensure new or changed infrastructure meets global goals and is in operational, move in condition for end customers.
  • Engage with newly acquired companies to enable deployments in a secure manner.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

 

  • 8 - 12 years of experience as a Network Engineer in a global networking environment or 8+ years in a cabling design, install and coordination role.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and installation of physical layer wiring in a corporate office setting, including wide area network cabling both inside and outside plant.
  • Ability to work with multiple vendors and coordinate activities to meet project timelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of the English language with excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving, autonomous and proactive working behavior.  Flexible attitude towards working hours to work as part of the global team, even after normal working hours.
  • Ability to communicate directly with end users and customers at various levels of technical abilities with professionalism.
  • Knowledge of Building systems designs (fire/ light/ safety/ & security), ability to understand architecture drawings and project timelines, basic tenant occupancy standards. 
  • Knowledge of design and operations of Layer 1 / Layer 2/ Layer 3 routing and switching, preferably Cisco Networks.
