What You'll Do
A User Assistance Developer:

  • Creates user assistance (UA) deliverables that enable users to deploy, administer, and use SAP software, and/or coordinates the creation of these UA deliverables. UA deliverables include, but are not limited to, terminology, UI texts, guides, multimedia, scripts, context-sensitive help, tutorials, and social-media content.
  • Collaborates and communicates, as applicable, with internal stakeholders, such as subject-matter experts, user experience (UX), development, validation, and product support.
  • Uses appropriate style and tone for the product and the audience according to the target group and market.
  • Applies all relevant SAP standards and guidelines for the given product/area, and ensures UA deliverables are aligned with them as well as with the content architecture. Actively provides feedback on these standards and guidelines using the appropriate channels.
  • Proofreads and edits content for relevance and linguistic correctness, as well as for terminology that is simple, consistent, and that conforms to industry standards. Submits content for language editing to a UA colleague with first-language proficiency, if required, to ensure high-quality deliverables in the source language.
  • Prepares content for delivery, including the provision of metadata, following the standard production process.
  • Acquiring and organizing the collection of source information, such as functional specifications or user stories.

 

What You Bring

  • Overall 5+ years of relevant experience with preferably 2-3+ years of UA development for on premise or Cloud applications
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in English, ideally first-language proficiency in English
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a structured, clear, and precise manner
  • Knowledge of documentation tools and languages (for example, IXIASOFT DITA CMS)
  • Able to understand the needs of customers with respect to E2E user assistance scenarios
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, including experience in direct customer communication
  • Awareness of standards, cloud qualities, development guidelines in the development environment

Education
University degree (for example, in technical communication or a related subject, such as languages, translation, or media and communication studies).

As a User Assistance Associate Developer, you will be responsible to deliver high quality user assistance deliverables such as terminology, UI texts, product assistance, guide chapters, multimedia, context-sensitive help, feature scope descriptions, and social-media content for innovative customer end user scenarios and functional backlog items for a product area.
