What you’ll do: 

As a Senior Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the SAP Design community, overseeing the creation of cohesive user experiences across various applications within the SAP ecosystem. Your responsibilities will span internal and customer-facing products, involving close collaboration with research, design, development, data science, product management, marketing, sales teams, and executive leadership. 

Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding and inspiring your team, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and excellence in design. You'll be deeply involved in all aspects of product design, from ideation to execution, ensuring that user needs are met and exceeded at every stage. 

A key aspect of this role is your ability to forge strategic partnerships and influence organizational leaders. You'll leverage these relationships to champion unique and compelling design solutions, ultimately shaping the direction of key initiatives. 

• Scaling design expertise / impact across SAP products 

• Managing a global design and development team in addition to contributing to their growth and skill development  

• Integrating design into Agile practices within the product development lifecycle 

• Identifying / monitoring quality metrics of design impact 

• Ensure operational efficiency and accountability for design within this team 

• You are a passionate domain expert in the area of design 

• You combine technologies and business domain experience that evolve our products 

• Competency in strategy, design thinking, Agile product development practices, design methodologies, design lifecycle planning and maintenance 

• Contribute to the creation of product-related assets when necessary (such as rollout and knowledge transfer material) 

• Build meaningful relationships with design, development, sales, go-to-market, and consulting and product owners of other SAP product units to realize a competitive best in class design solutions, leveraging the full SAP portfolio. 

• Having a 360-degree holistic product management mindset with a hands-on and can-do attitude, highly collaborative 

What you'll Bring

You'll bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will help drive the strategic direction of design initiatives across the SAP portfolio. Have a passion for fostering collaboration and synergy among cross-functional teams to ensure the successful ideation, conceptualization, and execution and adoption of projects. 

Your deep understanding of enterprise software, design principles, and AI technologies  will be instrumental in shaping the feasible direction of our experience solutions. You'll actively cultivate a culture of excellence within your team, bringing together diverse skill sets to create high-performing teams capable of consistently delivering powerful experiences. 

• Minimum of 10 years experience in design systems, product design, design leadership and innovation, agile product delivery and general AI experience 

• Strong communication skills, great negotiation skills, experienced in presenting to leadership and customers, evangelizing experience vision 

• Proven track record in envisaging, enacting, and managing UX conceptual projects 

• Hands-on experience with managing all aspects of design and development activities within projects  

• Excellent knowledge of customer needs and market trends 

• Significant experience presenting to, and working with, customers at C-level 

• Working knowledge of design tools and technologies 

• Proven ability to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams in a matrix organization to execute a plan 

• Team player, fostering a collaborative work environment with peers, with a clear view on delivering results 

• Fluent in English
