Solution Advisor Expert – SAP Global Trade Services
(Base location – China)
What you’ll do:
As a Solution Advisor Expert for SAP Global Trade Services (GTS), you will act as the trusted domain authority for global trade, customs, and compliance solutions within the SAP Office of CFO portfolio. You will support strategic sales engagements by advising customers on how SAP GTS enables compliant, efficient, and resilient cross-border trade operations in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
You will engage with prospective and existing customers through executive meetings, discovery sessions, solution demonstrations, and strategic deal support. Leveraging deep functional and industry expertise, you will help organizations address trade compliance, customs automation, tariff optimization, and supply chain risk—while ensuring smooth collaboration across sales, partners, and delivery teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide deep, solution-specific expertise to support new sales, expansion, and adoption of SAP Global Trade Services solution
- Deliver impactful, executive-level sales presentations and solution demonstrations (standard and customized) that articulate business value, differentiate SAP, and align with customer trade, finance, and compliance priorities
- Conduct structured discovery sessions to understand customer global trade challenges, regulatory exposure, and supply chain complexity, translating them into compelling solution narratives and proof points
- Support strategic, high-value deals by positioning SAP GTS as a critical enabler for compliant and efficient cross-border operations
- Act as the go-to expert for SAP GTS, providing guidance and best practices to SAP field teams and stakeholders
- Establish thought leadership within account teams and contribute to shaping account strategies, solution themes, and competitive differentiation
- Evaluate account qualification criteria to guide investment decisions and prioritize opportunities with the highest business impact
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to leverage and rapidly adopt global best practices, assets, and sales plays
- Drive internal and external enablement activities to scale local teams and accelerate Global Trade sales motions across APAC
- Collaborate with SAP Partners and third-party solution providers to drive joint go-to-market initiatives for SAP Global Trade Services
- Conduct rigorous dry runs for strategic deals and executive engagements to ensure high-quality customer interactions
- Leverage digital assets throughout the customer engagement lifecycle, including demos, presentations, and reusable content
- Ensure smooth transition of customer engagements to implementation partners and SAP Services teams for successful deployment and value realization
- Continue engaging customers post-sale to reinforce the SAP vision, support adoption, and build momentum toward renewals and expansion
What you bring:
- 10+ years of experience working with SAP Global Trade Services or closely related global trade, customs, or trade compliance solutions, preferably within a large, multinational software or technology organization
- Proven experience working with large enterprise and upper mid-market customers, including engagement with senior executives
- Experience across APAC markets, with an understanding of cultural, regulatory, and trade compliance diversity across countries
- Expert-level knowledge of SAP Global Trade Services, including areas such as customs management, trade compliance, import and export management, sanctioned party list screening, and risk management
- Good functional understanding of how SAP GTS integrates with SAP S/4HANA Finance and Logistics within end-to-end business processes
- Broad solution understanding of SAP’s overall software portfolio and enterprise architecture
- Hands-on consulting or implementation experience, with the ability to translate delivery insights into credible, value-based sales conversations
- Strong working knowledge of Cloud, Hosted Services, and SaaS/PaaS delivery models in a B2B environment
- Solid understanding of global trade, customs, and regulatory trends, as well as local trade compliance requirements within respective Market Units (MUs)
- Proven ability to create compelling storylines, themes, and executive-ready narratives around compliance, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency
- Ability to quickly understand customer business goals and ensure they remain central to recommended solutions and engagement strategies
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with confidence engaging senior executives
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed, and virtual team environment
- High levels of energy, professionalism, and passion in all customer interactions
- Willingness to travel approximately 40–50%
- Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related discipline; professional certifications in trade or compliance are a plus
