Job Description: Development Senior Manager
Position Overview
We are looking for a Development Senior Manager to lead engineering delivery across a strategic SAP product portfolio. You will drive AI-first development practices while ensuring high-quality feature delivery and exceptional customer support. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of enterprise software and AI innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a global engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Own end-to-end delivery of features and incident resolution across a multi-product portfolio
- Drive adoption of AI-based tools and frameworks, including generative AI and agentic development, to transform engineering productivity
- Define and execute engineering strategy, translating business priorities into actionable goals and measurable outcomes
- Ensure technical solutions align with technology guidelines and architectural standards
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with Product Management, Architecture, and Customer Support to unblock delivery and resolve escalations
- Monitor product performance and customer-adoption metrics, using data to drive decisions
- Identify and develop engineering talent, creating an empowering environment that highlights contributions and raises the bar
What You Bring
- 15+ years of experience in product engineering for enterprise business applications (e.g., SAP or similar)
- Deep expertise in ERP functionality, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), and enterprise architecture frameworks
- Proven track record managing diverse, distributed engineering teams across cultures and time zones
- Strong academic background in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures and modern engineering practices
- Demonstrated ability to drive AI/Gen AI adoption in engineering workflows
- Strong cross-functional influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
- Adaptability in the face of fast-changing priorities in a global organization
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills for technical and executive audiences

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 362800 - 605600 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
