Amid heightened global and geopolitical uncertainties, SAP Concur launched Concur Locate and Active Monitoring in 2017 to provide a powerful employee risk management and safety communication solution. Based on travel and expense data, itineraries booked direct captured through TripLink and TripIt, supplier e-receipts and more, Concur Locate enables businesses to proactively and quickly locate and communicate with employees during times of crisis and uncertainty, no matter where they are.

 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Travel Product Management, the Principal Product Manager, Concur Locate Duty of Care, will be responsible for defining and executing the product strategy in the Duty of Care area as well as scaling Concur Locate and Active Monitoring to thousands of SAP Concur customers in close partnership with our Sales, Implementation, and Services teams as well as our service partners, who provide 24/7 monitoring, communications and assistance services.

 

The Principal Product Manager will address market priorities and customer needs, partner with external companies in the travel and risk management space, and define and feed detailed product requirements to the development teams. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Market Business Leaders, Product Marketing, and Business Development teams to understand market trends, set the Duty of Care product vision and strategy, and define product priorities to increase sales and customer success.
  • Scale Concur Locate and Active Monitoring to thousands of SAP Concur clients, partnering closely with Sales, Implementation, Customer Adoption/Customer Success, and Support teams internally, and with our external partners.
  • Define, create, and share relevant metrics that help push product sales, adoption, and client success forward.
  • Determine priorities, scope and detailed functional requirements to support the Duty of Care strategy.  Maintain roadmap based on the needs of Concur, external partners, and customers.
  • Partner closely with the development teams to build, launch, and support Duty of Care solutions, and to drive new features through early adopter and general availability lifecycle. Influence large cross-functional teams to successfully launch new features and solutions.
  • Stay current with risk management and duty of care industry trends and act as a subject matter expert to provide relevant and timely information for all stakeholders.
  • Support, communicate, and advocate product plans to mixed audiences including senior leadership.
  • Incorporate feedback and changes effectively while proactively establishing mitigations and managing risk.

 

Education, Experience & Training required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years of Product Management/Program Management required. Prior experience at travel or duty of care related organizations strongly valued.
  • Track record of successfully partnering with external and internal stakeholders to deliver new products to market against aggressive deadlines and to rapidly scale new products or businesses.
  • Ability to synthesize structured and ad hoc feedback from clients and Sales to drive revenue and unlock adoption and customer success.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, developing them into detailed functional specifications, and prioritizing and executing on a product plan.
  • Knowledge and practice of agile development methodology.
  • Extremely comfortable with converting ambiguity into an action plan, getting buy-in from external and internal stakeholders, and advocating for it.
  • Ability to solve challenging business problems with an understanding of economics in the business travel sector.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional, cross-cultural and global groups and to work effectively in complex and evolving environments with varying stakeholder networks.
  • Effective communications skills, focusing on presentation of technical and business information.
  • Solid understanding of SaaS concepts and underlying technology, data privacy and security concepts.
  • Fluent in English. French or German strongly valued.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
