COMPANY DESCRIPTION

SAP started in 1972 as a team of five colleagues with a desire to do something new. Together, they changed enterprise software and reinvented how business was done. Today, as a market leader in enterprise application software, we remain true to our roots. That’s why we engineer solutions to fuel innovation, foster equality and spread opportunity for our employees and customers across borders and cultures.
SAP values the entrepreneurial spirit, fostering creativity and building lasting relationships with our employees. We know that a diverse and inclusive workforce keeps us competitive and provides opportunities for all. We believe that together we can transform industries, grow economics, lift up societies and sustain our environment. Because it’s the best-run businesses that make the world run better and improve people’s lives.

Our team is looking for a Product Manager to increase the impact of our internal tools with a current focus on the Atlassian portfolio.  The candidate will be responsible for helping to define and deliver key features and functionality as part of our evolving internal tools portfolio and content management strategy.

The ideal candidate is excited about building for internal customers, has great product management and communication skills, and a strong understanding of Agile development methodologies. This position is highly cross-functional – working closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams. To be successful in this role, you will need to adeptly influence without direct authority and speak to both business and technical teams.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Leadership. Lead design and development of processes, tools, and services to bolster internal teams’ efficiency, transparency, and happiness.
  • Product Alignment. Develop product requirements based on input from stakeholders across the organization (e.g., business process, product, engineering, UX, support teams, and executives), integrate requirements into the product roadmap and guide engineering efforts through implementation. Launch product enhancements and conduct post-launch evaluations and ongoing improvements.
  • Communication. Develop strategies and materials to communicate changes across the organization and drive adoption through education and influence.  Provide accurate timelines and status back to stakeholders.
  • Expertise. Become the authority on internal processes, communication, and tools. Provide rational guidance to cross-functional teams on industry best practices and implement processes and methodologies to ensure adoption is maintained at scale.
  • Monitor and Improve. Develop metrics, systems, and processes to measure the effectiveness of the experiences we’re delivering and be able to identify opportunities for further optimization.

Position Requirements

  • You’ve done it before. At least 5 years of Product Management experience, working with Agile teams and Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence.  Familiarity with web-based product development methodologies and best practices.
  • You enjoy rolling up your sleeves. User research? Process logic? Detailed requirements? Solution validation? You’ve done it, and secretly love it all. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to turn complexity into simplicity.  Confidence to dive in and learn new solutions and processes without a lot of assistance.
  • You love executing. The long-term roadmap/strategy is key, but without execution there’s no way to get there. You’re detail oriented and spend time in the trenches – gathering requirements, validating solutions, prioritizing (and re-prioritizing) features, and helping build awesome products and enhancements.
  • You work well with others. Understand articulated and unarticulated needs of our internal customers. Cross-functional leadership, and strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • You are dynamic and adapt to change. An affinity for meeting challenges and unexpected changes head on by quickly assessing situations, making a rational decision, setting a plan, taking action, and moving forward.
  • You communicate clearly. Communicate short, medium, and long-term product vision in a way that informs the target architecture.  Able to “sell” changes internally and be a product evangelist.  Experience managing change management efforts a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years Product Management experience.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Direct experience with Atlassian products including Jira, Portfolio for Jira, and Confluence.
  • Integrating various Atlassian applications with other applications is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline.
  • MBA preferred.

Position Location:

  • Position is based in the Bellevue, WA office.
