We are seeking a Data Scientist to join us in reshaping the face of global commerce! SAP is uniquely positioned to achieve this task, as hundreds of billions of events, representing more than 75% of the world’s transaction revenue, touch an SAP system. We are leveraging large amounts of heterogeneous “big data,” artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation and create insights for our customers.
As a Data Scientist on our team, you’ll join an agile, fun, and productive team of data scientists that are working to connect the world’s data and unlock new insights that will drive SAP innovations. To achieve this, you’ll partner closely with engineers in the Data & AI Platform team, who are working to build tools, services, and technologies to support large-scale data exploration. 
The ideal candidate for this role will have a big-picture vision, a love of technology, and a can-do attitude with a passion to redefine norms and drive innovation. This is a high-impact role on a rapidly growing team, where you’ll have the opportunity to directly contribute to the success of the ISM team. This position will help define goals, create, and test models, and drive innovation in close collaboration and partnership with other researchers and engineers. 



  • Work with data science team members, product managers, and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for new and innovative data analytics insights, metrics, and features. 
  • Collaborate with other data scientists, product owners, and business/engineering teams to turn data into valuable and actionable insights for our customers.  
  • Drive excellence in data science work, performing experiments, documenting results, analyzing data, delivering new models, analysis, and insights.
  • Develop and monitor metrics to evaluate the importance and success of data analytics, working to ensure their adoption and health.  


  • BA/BS required, preferably in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics) 
  • 2+ years’ experience in data modeling and using data analytical tools and techniques (e.g., Python, SQL, Hadoop, R) 
  • Proficient with data analysis and modeling software such as R and/or scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience with Cloud-based data processing and machine learning technologies such as Tensorflow, SageMaker, and ML Pipelines
  • Proficient at implementing both supervised and unsupervised machine learning models
  • Familiarity with statistical models and data mining algorithms 
  • Familiarity with Data Science techniques such as clustering, anomaly detection, etc.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex analysis to internal and external stakeholders at all levels
