What you’ll do

The BTP Security Engineering Unit serves as a foundation for security services that are consumed by cloud applications as well as other platform services across SAP - strengthening our and our customers’ deliveries. We own cross-concerns addressing the confidentiality and integrity of SAP BTP like cryptography, certificates and public key infrastructure, credentials management, and many more.

Extending our current portfolio, a central Key Management Service is planned as the next evolutionary step of SAP BTP. As part of a new multinational team, you can shape this next era from scratch. Following a cloud-native mindset, you will use cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes managed by SAP Gardener.

SAP aims to develop an Open Reference Architecture (ORA) for a secure and sustainable cloud-edge infrastructure that includes intelligent optimization methods for data transparency and security. This reference infrastructure, aspired by the EU IPCEI-CIS (Important Project of Common European Interest – Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services) program, shall be the basis for future software development and a prerequisite for a pan-European cloud edge infrastructure.

SAP will be working on the publicly funded project with both experienced employees from its existing workforce but also new hires. Therefore, we are looking for suitable candidates. If you are interested in Cloud Operating System development and operation, the usage and further development of Open-Source solutions and standards, interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability you should consider applying.

What you bring

  • University degree in computer science, software engineering, or similar.
  • Good skills in developing, particularly in Golang (preferred), Node.js, or being willing to learn Golang.
  • Comprehensive experience with Kubernetes and container technology.
  • Experience working in agile software development processes (Scrum).
  • You work well independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • You shine with a positive attitude and have an open-minded, adaptable, and humble personality. You enjoy learning new things quickly, particularly new technologies, concepts, and tools.
  • Fluent English language skills, both oral and written
