Summary & Role Information

As Principal Tech Lead in the Governance group, you will be responsible for the tech strategy and architecture of SAP Signavio’s Governance capabilities. Those capabilities include Governance workflows, which are currently executed in our proprietary low-code-no-code workflow engine and a couple of auxiliary services built in the Signavio Suite. As functional lead, you will support Engineers and Tech Leads from (currently) 2 Scrum teams and coach them to grow professionally. 

Together with experts from other domains, such as Product Ownership and Design, People Leads and your direct manager, you will form the group’s leadership team and make sure the groups develop, operates and maintains its Cloud services in an efficient and value-generating manner. 

You will drive the evolution of our current technology stacks to meet market needs and enable efficient product development. 


What you will do 

  • Leading cross team initiatives like Signavio Process Governance (SPG) Deprecation and Signavio Suite strategy 
  • Create technical strategy and align across SPG teams, participate in strategy as a part of the tech vision 
  • Define domain boundaries and align the SAP-Signavio Process Governance product vision with the SAP-Signavio Suite vision 
  • Define the plan to reduce the complexity and scope of Process Automation part of the SPG system to align it with the SPG Deprecation strategy 
  • Define the plan to replace legacy solutions with industry standards, ensuring enterprise-readiness, and a redefined user experience. 
  • Discover and document the SPG business domain to facilitate defining clear responsibility separation for the SAP Signavio Process Governance teams in building governance features in the future. 
  • Act as sparring partner and coach for most of the senior engineers in the group; provide in-depth feedback to Senior and Lead Engineers during appraisals. 
  • Contribute to and drive all aspects of development life cycle, 
  • Identify system-level improvements and deficiencies and bring them to light. 
  • Develop and provide technical standards and guidance in all software design and development activities. 
  • Support in maintenance and upgrades of existing software applications

  • Ability to build and foster effective working model between different stakeholders 
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements and software architecture 
  • Experience in formulizing technical strategies for B2B Cloud products 
  • Hands-on attitude and programming skills 
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and to bridge between management, stakeholder, and individual contributors 
  • Growth mindset with regards to yourself and the organization you are co-leading 
  • Critical thinking with regards to product, processes, organization and technology 
  • Experience in documentation, system architecture analysis and design 
  • Curiosity around technology and trends 
  • Knowledge and experience around customer support processes, software security and site reliability engineering 
  • Basic understanding of Data Engineering, statistics, and Maths 
  • Experience with data migration/data pipeline knowledge 
  • Experience with script engines  
  • Experience breaking monoliths
