Summary:

SAP aims to develop an Open Reference Architecture (ORA) for a secure and sustainable cloud edge infrastructure that includes intelligent optimization methods for data transparency and security. This reference infrastructure, aspired by the EU IPCEI-CIS (Important Project of Common European Interest – Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services) program, shall be the basis for future software development and a prerequisite for a pan-European cloud edge infrastructure.


SAP will be working on the publicly funded project with both experienced employees from its existing workforce but also new hires. Therefore, we are looking for suitable candidates. If you are interested in Cloud Operating System development and operation, the usage and further development of Open-Source solutions and standards, interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability you should consider applying. 

 

Are you a Senior/Expert Cloud Developer with a passion for designing and implementing cutting-edge cloud-native solutions? We are looking for a Senior/Expert Cloud Developer with extensive experience in developing applications & tools in Cloud environments, specifically in the context of the Kubernetes Control Planes (KCP) project.

 

We aim to develop a Decentralized Kube-based Service Landscape to address the challenges of operating digital landscapes at scale. This project is part of the EU IPCEI-CIS (Important Project of Common European Interest – Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services) program, which aspires to create a secure and sustainable cloud edge infrastructure.


The Role:
We are looking for suitable candidates to contribute to the KCP project, a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Sandbox project that extracts the Kubernetes Resource Model (KRM) and API concepts from Kubernetes and provides a control plane framework for APIs. If you are interested in Cloud Lifecycle Management System development and operation, the usage and further development of Open-Source solutions and standards, interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability, you should consider applying.
We're seeking passionate Expert Cloud Engineers/Developers to contribute to the KCP project. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic team, working on a project that forms the foundation for a delivery model running multiple incorporating many service providers in the context of the project with the european union.

 

What you bring:

We're looking for a motivated, self-driven, and team-oriented individual with a strong technical foundation in software engineering, cloud methodologies, and Kubernetes. Specifically, you should have:

  • An excellent university degree in computer science or related fields
  • Deep hands-on software engineering experience with Golang
  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes, its API machinery, and extension concepts like CRDs, operator pattern, dynamic admission control,
  • extension API-Servers, etc.
  • Familiarity with Linux systems and command-line interfaces & development of command-line interfaces
  • Very good understanding of container technologies, Kubernetes, and related cloud-native technologies
  • 7+ years of experience in a development organization
  • Soft skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, collaborative, proactive mindset, affinity for continuous improvement procedures, emphasizing clean code, quality and system efficiency, enthusiasm for technology, ability to discuss and present technical concepts, proficiency in English and pleasure to work within an international environment.

 

Meet the team:

The Cloud Native Lifecycle Management team is building and operating the core technologies for the management of cloud-native workloads and their supply chain. You'll be part of a team that's enhancing  open-source projects, providing a homogeneous and universal cloud-native workload management.
