What you’ll do:

 

Position title: SAP iXp Intern – Data Science Operations, Customer Competitive & Market Insights

Location: Boulder, Colorado / Hybrid

Expected start date: April 2025 (12 month contract, 40 hours/week)

 

As a Data Science Operations Specialist Intern in Customer Competitive & Market Insights (CMI), you will bring the power of our data to SAP.  You will help analyze our own experience, operational, and product data to build and grow a deeply impactful XM program with a keen focus on visualizing results in Qualtrics Dashboards.  Your primary responsibilities will include:

 

  • Establish best practices for designing and running projects on the Qualtrics Platform.
  • Design and develop methods to analyze diverse data sources for actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with various teams to identify data analysis needs.
  • Extract meaningful insights from surveys across projects and brands.
  • Lead in statistical analysis, including descriptive statistics and regression.
  • Develop and implement project plans for data analysis and visualization.
  • Customize data tools based on team needs.
  • Train and support teams on data usage and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to data tools.
  • Monitor data performance and recommend improvements.
  • Create tools and reports to manage data projects.
  • Gather requirements for data integrations from cross-functional teams.
  • Define and document data best practices.
  • Promote the benefits and usage of data tools across the organization.
  • Measure the success of data projects and report progress.
  • Identify areas for improvement in data tools.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Lead projects and coordinate execution across teams.

 

What you bring:

 

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Finance, Management, Marketing, or Social Science.  Master’s preferred.

 

  • Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelor’s, master’s or JD/PhD program.

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Qualtrics XM Suite: Must have strong technical skills and knowledge of Qualtrics platform, including Survey and Dashboard Design, Text Analysis, advanced features like workflows, TextIQ, data and analysis reporting and automation tools.
  • Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytics: Great to have Microsoft Access, Excel (VBA, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), SPSS and SAS. Data Cleaning, Data Transformation, Predictive Analytics, Classification, Clustering.
  • Data Visualization: Great to have PowerPoint, Crystal Reports, Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn.  Creating dashboards and reports for cross-functional insights, experience in visualization best practices.
  • Programming: Good to have Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib, Researchpy, Seaborn), SQL (complex joins, data transformation), R (ggplot2, lm, plotly, corrplot), Java and data cleaning, and manipulation.
  • Data Engineering: Good to have Data integration in cloud environments, managing data lakes, defining and documenting data attributes.
  • Methodologies: Experience with Agile and Kanban methodologies and principles such as collaboration, iteration, customer focus, and adaptability and Jira for project management.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to undertake analyses, develop synthesized findings/recommendations, quickly articulate a storyline, and conduct high-impact presentations.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Superior interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships across functions, levels, and geographies – internally and externally.
  • Industry Knowledge: Base understanding of the software industry and competitive landscape.
  • Flexibility: Highest level of flexibility, integrity, and confidentiality.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 15 - 62 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
