This is a new role within the SAP Customer Solution Advisory organisation that combines the customer facing Business Development and Solution Advisory skills with responsibility for all Public Sectors Tender Management within their country / Market Unit. Depending on MU and Tender cases the candidate may spend more time on either of following expectations. Candidates will cover both:


  • Strong Solution Advisor experience such as deal captain, SAP and industry solutions, Public Sector knowledge and customer relationships. Essential in working with NNN and named  accounts on their future requirements and solutions advisory.
  • Overall focal point and tender management responsibility for MU including developing future customer tender demand, providing critical tender leadership and support to PS account teams guiding to deal conclusion. The tender management requires the candidate to lead complex tender processes with SAP Cloud offerings 1) supporting the Sales organization to have final approvals (specially non standard approvals) for the contract to be signed on time taken into account the RFP with its legal terms, the SAP legal framework, the DOA (Delegation of Authorities) and all existing SAP commercial business rules, 2) having close collaboration with the Industry and Customer Advisory (ICA) team on accounts and tender cases, showing deep knowledge in Public Sector and awareness on SAP Cloud solutions/products relevant for the sector, 3) having key role in demand generation activities and evangelization of SAP Cloud products to customers. S/he works closely with the EMEA-N SWAT Team having strong support from mater experts on data protection, data security, legal, bid management, pricing, revenue recognition, consulting services, cloud operations, contract cloud, partner, industry and solution advisory.




  • Stay in close contact with the regional tender specialist (i.e. dotted line report to SWAT team lead).
  • Having solid experience in Public Sector, local rules and tender process
  • Act as a leader and deal captain to ensure that the various members working on the deal are coordinating their efforts to maximum impact, and that the solution strategy fits with the customer needs, assisting the local solution advisors and sales account executive with qualifying customer needs, guiding the team on creating compelling responses to RFX, presentations,  demonstrations, proposals and reinforcing the business value of SAP solutions.
  • Interact with customers through executive meetings, discovery conversations, executive presentations and follow-up discussions on SAP cloud strategy, cloud readiness and security.
  • Act as a tender coordinator to make sure all actions are taken to have a fully approved final contract delivered working with all internal teams to obtain (non-standard) approvals on Public Sector specific clauses (such as: Legal, DPA, Data Security, Data Protection, License Management, …) and collaborating closely with sales account executives on the commercial proposal and participating in negotiation process with the customer
  • Act as risk manager for the tender process, making sure of the consistency of inputs coming from different lines of businesses and the quality of our deliverables to meet fully customer expectations, identify risks / road blockers and report if necessary, to the EMEA-N SWAT Team
  • Act as door opener and evangelist within the government and public institutions creating relationships before the tender process, mastering SAP cloud offerings, knowing very well local processes, collaborating with SAP government affair, marketing, ICA, sales organizations and Partners on business development and demand generation activities




  • Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent proficient experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in project work and customer interactions (experience within cloud solution providers is highly appreciated)
  • Solid experience in Public Sector, local rules and tender process
  • Experience in legal / contract reading/writing is appreciated
  • Leadership skills and project management experience
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good communication, negotiation, value-selling skills
  • Quality focus, Solution finder and Result driven (Preparing decisions)
  • Good consulting skills for solving the customer requests to provide the best solution for customer and SAP’s interests
  • Advanced written and spoken English skills
  • Fluent written and spoken in French and Dutch
