What you`ll do: 

Summary: 

We are looking for an AI Architecture Expert to lead enterprise AgenticAI development, guide engineering scrum teams, and make core technical and architectural decisions. The candidate will have proven and industry-leading skills in Data Science and Data Engineering as well as Software Engineering and Solution Architecture, with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our diverse team and work on innovation projects as well as exceptional leadership and people skills. 

The Role: 

In this role, you oversee the entire development of multiple AI services, from data science proof-of-concept to production. You define best practices that improve AI software quality across teams, requiring technical leadership and clear communication of complex concepts. Strong experience in software engineering, enterprise-grade code, AI modeling, Big Data, Data Engineering pipelines, model deployment, and CI/CD is essential. Solid business acumen is also necessary to address stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities: 

• Play a crucial role in pioneering the integration of modern AI capabilities, actively shaping the infusion of Generative AI features right from the beginning. This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact and be part of a groundbreaking journey.
• Work closely with multiple frontrunner teams in AI environment globally.
• Explore and assess new technologies in the field of generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-augmented development, tools, and infrastructure to evolve existing highly used functionalities and services in the cloud.
• Guide/ lead architecture decisions in your team based on industry standards and best practices, lead adherence to architectural principles, SAP product-specific guidelines, and product standards.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and frameworks in the context of AI. With the help of Proof-of-Concept establish the viability.
• Support the team with various software engineering tasks (design, implementation, testing, operations) focusing on high quality and Agile Software Engineering practices.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor, encourage and motivate the development team.

What you bring: 

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Solid experience in architecting backend systems, with proficiency in languages such as Python or Java
• Extensive experience with developing and architecting software solutions that run in the Cloud; knowledge of SAP BTP is an advantage
• Strong knowledge in prompt engineering techniques such as retrieval augmented generation or few-shot prompting
• Expertise in designing and implementing agent frameworks such as ReAct
• Experience with MCP or similar technologies would be a plus
• Ability to keep pace with GenAI technology shifts and solve problems creatively within a diverse team with different expertise backgrounds and perspectives.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and database usage
• Extensive experience with common tools for agile project planning and tracking, source code control, and continuous integration (e.g., JIRA, Git, Jenkins)
• Ability to work independently and lead projects, providing technical guidance to development teams
• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with multiple stakeholders
• Good English language skills (written and verbal)  
• 8+ years of experience in software development, preferably 3+ years in an architect role.
• Proven experience in cloud-based enterprise software, ideally in Service & Support or related domains.
• Experience working in agile teams and driving architectural decisions in such setups.
