PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP Digital Supply Chain solutions have achieved a leading market position and are used by more than 2,500 customers worldwide. We are aiming to innovate the Digital Supply Chain product portfolio through Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and S/4HANA.

The SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain (SAP IBP) solution is a cloud-based supply chain planning solution that scales to accommodate business growth and integrates with other SAP and third-party systems. Find out more about IBP here. 

The development and maintenance of SAP Integrated Business Planning is fueled by various customer engagements and the collaboration between several teams in different locations. You will be a member of an inspired virtual team with most of the team members located in SAP’s headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. The main development areas of the team are the ones with currently the highest priority within IBP, focusing on order-based planning and real time integration with SAP ERP systems. The main technologies used are ABAP, HANA and Java script. Changing technologies and system environments require your flexibility. Teamwork and the collaboration with others are part of your daily business.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a Quality Engineer, you will be working in a scrum team of experienced developer colleagues. Your main responsibilities will be:
•    As member of the Quality Engineering community ensure that IBP meets all quality requirements throughout the whole software development lifecycle
•    Define test strategy and test cases for the features implemented by your team
•    Drive and execute the quality related activities with strong focus on test automation
•    Manage and set up test environments on internal test systems (including customizing the IBP application and defining master data and transactional data)
•    Analyze test results and take appropriate follow-up actions with the team
•    Monitor and dispatch error messages reported by the customers
•    Be a team player in an agile development team and collaborate with other scrum teams, contributors in a multi-site environment

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required skills
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Natural Science, Business Administration or a related discipline 
•    Strong interest in software quality assurance
•    Experience in agile software development and cloud software development 
•    Experience in database management with SQL/SQL Script
•    Good coordination skills to manage and motivate team members to execute the quality concept
•    Experience on test case management systems, backlog planning systems (e.g. JiRA), bug tracking systems
•    Constructive and open-minded style of communication across teams
•    Ability to work mainly remotely in a virtual team
•    Fluent in verbal and written English, German is an advantage

Optional skills
•    Experience with SAP’s ABAP or HANA 
•    ISQTB Certified Tester education/certification
•    Business knowledge in the area of Supply Chain Management
•    Knowledge about SAP IBP

WORK EXPERIENCE
•  2-3+ years of professional experience in agile software development focusing on quality processes and test automation
•  Know-how of the SAP software development technologies and processes are appreciated
