Financial Reporting Accountant (Corporate Financial Reporting)

The Role: 

The Local Statutory Reporting (LSR) team is responsible for the preparation of the financial statements of over 170 of the SAP subsidiaries, worldwide. 

LSR is part of the Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) department of SAP. This department is within the CFO Board area directly assigned to the Chief Accounting Officer of SAP within Global Accounting, Reporting and Tax (GAR&T) and is responsible for the completeness and correctness of SAP’s accounting and external financial reporting under German and International law. 

 

In this position, you will not only prepare financial statements, but also leverage your expertise in IFRS, local GAAPs, and technical accounting to manage financial reporting for multiple entities. You will also engage in cross-functional projects, contribute to automation initiatives, and gain exposure to high-impact areas. 

 

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare Financial Statements: Prepare financial statements under IFRS and other GAAPs of SAP subsidiaries, ensuring accurate identification and adjustment of differences between IFRS and local GAAPs. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with external and internal stakeholders including Tax, Treasury, and Controlling, providing exposure to diverse areas of financial management. 

• Continuous Improvement: Support the automation and standardization of financial statement preparation, in accordance with SAP's strategy to streamline processes, improve efficiency and ensure accuracy and compliance. 

• Tackle Complexity: Dive into complex topics like hyperinflation accounting, business combinations under common control and consolidation, providing expertise and solutions. 

 

Role Requirements: 

• Qualified accountant with at least 4 to 6 years [T2] of experience in preparing and/ or auditing financial statements – Big Four experience is a plus. 

• Deep professional experience including application of IFRS accounting  

• Able to articulate positions with excellent communication skills. 

• Assertive and able to work both independently and within a global team. 

• Fluent in spoken and written English is a must (other languages being a plus). 

• Excellent in MS Excel, knowledge of accounting-related functionalities in SAP ERP preferred. 

• University degree with special topics in finance, preferably accounting and/or auditing (CPA / CA / ACCA a plus).
