As a Senior Platform Security Engineer and member of our CloudOps team, you will be responsible for accelerating and automating vulnerability remediation for the various virtual infrastructure components of the SAP Fieldglass cloud platform while adhering to the SAP Global Vulnerability Management policies. This is a new role designed to maintain an exceptional record of vulnerability management by collaborating with security operations and other technology teams to respond to Platform related vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with VMware and hyperscaler based virtual infrastructure lifecycle management as well as configuration related to these technologies. A strong understanding if a published vulnerability is applicable to specific components and/or configuration is required to be successful in this role.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Work with the SecOps team and existing vulnerability tools to identify, evaluate, prioritize, and determine appropriate vulnerability remediation actions
  • Work with respective technology teams and SME’s to rapidly remediate vulnerabilities, develop and implement automated methods
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
  • Work closely with SAP Fieldglass line of business and the Central Security Operations group to drive adherence of SAP Global Vulnerability Management policies
  • Present network device vulnerability remediation action plan to the technology teams who will assist in the implementation of remediation plans
  • Create exceptions for vulnerabilities that cannot be remediated due to system configuration limitations or service disruption


  • Strong understanding and previous Cloud Operations experience with hyperscaler and VMware virtual infrastructure
  • Min. 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Infrastructure vulnerability assessments and vulnerability remediation
  • Experience with automation and multiple scripting languages including but not limited to Ansible, Bash, PowerShell and Python
  • Highly motivated and can work/collaborate across departments to deliver on Tasks and Projects
  • Comfortable adapting to dynamic technologies, a self-starter, and a passion for technology and cloud
  • Knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as code
  • A commitment to Agile (Scrum), DevOps and NoOps principles and practices
  • This role is not available for sponsorship; all candidates must have the ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Experience that would be a plus:

  • Jira experience
  • VMware, Security, Cloud, and\or CKAD, CKA or CKS certifications
