The SAP Data Management and Landscape Transformation (DMLT) is a global organization as part of Services, Customer Success board area. We are searching for Head of DMLT Japan, in Tokyo or Osaka, Japan.


SAP is providing solutions for data-driven business with SAP Intelligent Enterprise. DMLT is offering 100+ consulting services for guidance, advisory, architect, and delivery of unique and advanced technology to fill the gap in DATA area of solutions for customer’s business needs. Team is driving business through Go-To-Market, Demand Generation, Customer Engagement, technology development and service delivery in 3 solution areas around DATA;


  1. Transition into the Intelligent Enterprise

We provide advisory for the best fit migration approach to S/4HANA to customers and drive the business of Selective Data Transition as a global owner of the approach under SAP S/4HANA MOVEMENT program.

  1. Data Management

DMLT translates business strategy to deep-down technologies/solutions with holistic solution portfolio for customer’s challenges around data by providing services around Data Management Strategy, Governance, Architect, Data Quality, Master Data, Data Privacy, Data Volume and Retention, Data Integration and Intelligence.

  1. System Landscape Optimization (SLO) for the Intelligent Enterprise

We have been delivering SLO services with unique technology for more than 20 years for business challenges like M&A, Divestures, Organization Structure changes, Data harmonization like master data, Currency changes, System Consolidations etc. It utilizes the table level migration/conversion technology as SAP product vendor.

This shift requires a high trust in leadership and appreciative and targeted communication.



As Head of DMLT Japan, you develop the business in your respective area of Data Management and Landscape Transformation (DMLT), lead a team of technology and business process consultants to deliver valuable outcomes for customers, and drive strategic projects for DMLT. Your tasks include the following:

  • Strong SAP service experience in APJ Business environments is a must, especially with customers in Japan
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with leading virtual and international teams is a must
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience with leading teams across different locations / cultures
  • Strategic and holistic vision and agile and innovative mind-set in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with working with globally distributed teams
  • Customer-centric way of thinking, ideally with strong sales or business development experience (LACE) and service delivery experience
  • SAP architecture and solution portfolio knowledge, strong SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud and Intelligent Enterprise Suite experience  
  • Strong and proven track on negotiation skills and managing C-Level customer expectations
  • Understanding of market conditions to support building the next-generation services with active support in Pre-sales, Sales and delivery engagement phases (LACE Model)
  • Proven track in establishing and leading a business and teams to profitable results
  • High commitment towards cross-team collaboration, experience working in global teams
  • Experience in the context of Future of Work (purpose-led organizations or self-organization) are a strong asset, e.g. profound knowledge of Design Thinking, Unlearning Hierarchy
  • Open for continuous learning, including feedback from any level

English: fluent – must

Graduates from university with bachelor or master degree(s) / an Engineering graduate or MCA from a recognized and well accredited university or institution.



Functional Experience

  • Min. 5 years of experience in working with SAP solutions or being part of SAP with profound knowledge in SAP Solutions, either on technical or on industry level
  • High affinity to SAP Technology and SAP Consulting with solid knowledge in business process understanding
  • Solid understanding of market conditions to support building the next-generation services
  • Min. 5 years of experience in the context of Data Management and Landscape Transformation
  • Proved ability to grow business from scratch during professional career
  • Proven track as trusted advisor at customers, strong experience in C-Level Communication, Presentation and Events
  • Strong De-Escalation capabilities and managing expectations and timelines
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and co-creation processes across organizations
  • Active controlling / monitoring of team utilizations and contributions and service revenues with regional/MU responsibilities
  • Solid experience in strategic thinking and conceptual design of complex projects & programs with customers and partners.
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in a Senior or Expert position in the operational business, prior management position beneficial
