The SAP Ariba Senior Solution Expert is charged with customer focused delivery and SAP Business Network (Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration) solution expertise. The SAP Senior Solution Expert are focused on the rapid transformation of client organizations into world-class managers of Supply Chain Collaboration Solutions that create sustainable bottom-line results.

As a member of the Software Implementation Team, they service as Ariba Solutions expert on application functionality and technical requirements. He/or she is responsible for effectively applying the SAP Activate deployment process to meet customer needs within the realm and scope of the Statement of Work (SOW). SAP Ariba Senior Solution Expert will work on all aspects of the implementation process including participation during sales process in developing scope of work. Requirements gathering, solution Design, coordinating technical resources and managing the client relationship.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Customer/Program Focus

  • Lead functional solution delivery as Senior Solution Expert, Deliver sound, high quality transformations programs.
  • Proven ability to manage C level stakeholders and other Senior business leaders
  • Lead customers through the lifecycle of an Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration implementation.
    • Guides customers through the design process to make decisions with full visibility into Best Practices.
    • Assists customers in the development of processes and procedures to leverage Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration solution functionality.
    • Plans and manages project tasks to meet quality standards to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • Help development of project plans for implementation, including the assessment of project objectives, SAP technologies, systems, information specifications and schedules.
  • Uses knowledge of customer’s business and industry to assess findings and shape solutions.
  • Makes the client successful within the realm and scope of the Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Shares expertise through training and communications with customers ensuring knowledge transfer and the desired level of self-sufficiency is achieved.  

  Solution/Domain Expertise

  • Lead business conversations with customers about implementing and adopting solutions
  • Establishes credibility as a conduit for solutions expertise with customers (e.g., positive customer feedback), and is viewed as “trusted advisor” to the customer
  • Facilitate scope definition and design for Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration solution.
  • Applies a broad knowledge of SAP Ariba Supply Chain solutions and its integration to client’s backend ERP system.
  • Quickly learns new features and innovations of the Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration solution in order to present them credibly and confidently to clients and Ariba consultants.

   Teamwork

  • Executes with minimal guidance and shows strong initiative.
  • Works with Customer and internal delivery teams to determine what resources/skills are needed (e.g., other consultants, product management, engineering, Shared Services (former GSO), technical support) and brings them in as necessary.
  • Displays proactive communication (i.e., face-to-face meetings and phone calls are more frequent than emails).
  • Serves as liaison between customer and Ariba internal teams such as Product and Technical Support, Sales, Field Technology, Product Management, and Training.

 Practice Development

  • Assists to refine existing or assists in developing new intellectual property, Assets and methodology, frameworks and tools (e.g., questionnaires, presentations, implementation methodology, performance management) based on project experience, research, and analysis.
  • Actively contributes to knowledge capital.
  • Assists in developing and leading trainings on area of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ experience in implementing SAP ERP modules for some or all of the following functions:
    • Basic Planning & Forecasting (MM, PP)
      • Demand and supply planning 
      • S&OP, Demand Management, MRP
    • Supplier managed inventory management (MM)
    • Direct Materials Procurement (MM)
      • Standard
      • Scheduling Agreement/ Releases
      • Subcontracting/ Contract Manufacturing
      • Consignment
      • Third party/ Drop ship
      • Services
      • Invoice management
    • Quality management (QM)
    • Warehouse and Transportation Management (EWM/ LES)
  • 3+ Year of experience in handling successfully large-scale projects and clients.
  • Basic understanding of ERP integration via middleware and direct connect
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, marketing or technical discipline
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Additional Qualifications (Differentiators)

  • Experience in implementing Advanced Planning Systems (SAP IBP & APO-DP, Kinaxis, E2Open)
  • Prior work experience on Cloud software and implementation.
  • Industry experience in the following a plus: 
    • Life Sciences (Pharmaceuticals and Medical Device)
    • High-Tech
    • Automotive
    • Industrial Manufacturing/ Machinery & Components
  • Experience in B2B/EDI communication standards and technology.
  • SAP Ariba technical integration “Add-On” configuration
  • Exposure to multicultural scenarios / international work experience a plus.
