The development center of SAP in Bulgaria is technology-focused and plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. The Platform 

SAP is a recognized leader in the cloud space with its Business Technology Platform (BTP) running solutions for the largest companies across the world. The Cloud Foundry environment within BTP enables customers to develop new business applications and services, supporting multiple runtimes, programming languages, libraries, and services.
Application developers can use a multitude of buildpacks, including community innovations for Java, Node.js and Python to leverage the technology which suits their scenario and their existing skillset best.
The buildpacks provide framework and runtime support for applications. They typically examine application’s source code and configuration to determine what dependencies to download and how to configure the application to communicate with bound services. When an application is pushed, Cloud Foundry automatically detects an appropriate buildpack for it and uses the buildpack to compile or prepare the application for launch.

What you`ll do :

SAP’s intention is to be The Cloud Company powered by HANA. We learned from successful cloud companies that the Development organization must take over the responsibility not only for development but also for the successful operations of our services.

The Role:

We established our 24/7 Cloud Operations Team which proactively drives continuous improvement of HANA Cloud, coordinates incident and problem management across development teams. With our broad technical knowledge about the infrastructure, the services and the platform, the team solves incidents, drives, and implements automation and develops internal tools and scripts.

As a Cloud Operation Team our mission is to provide, protect and improve the software and services behind productive systems on SAP HANA Cloud Service with an ever-watchful eye on their availability, performance, and capacity.

What you bring :

As a Cloud Operations Engineer: 

• Experience and knowledge in Cloud technologies and Cloud Services (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, AliCloud) 
• Database Administration skills (MySQL, transactional databases) and experience working in Unix/Linux environments
• Experience working with Containers – Kubernetes, Docker 
• Understanding of ITIL framework and related processes.

Soft Skills:

• Experience working in tight deadlines. under pressure and working efficiently in emergency situations 
• Customer oriented, self-motivated and pro-active working attitude, as well as desire to work in fast changing environment, acquiring and sharing knowledge and improving processes 
• Good communication and presentation skills, fluency in English (written and verbal), collaboration in an international environment will be a regular part of your job.

Preferred Skills: 

• Knowledge in SAP HANA (or other in-memory databases) is a strong plus 
• In-depth knowledge of operating systems and network architectures 
• Expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems, databases 
• Strong technical Cloud IaaS knowledge 
• Strong project management skills 
• Experience in operating systems in the Cloud environment
