PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP Technical Support provides customers with a proactive, technology-driven, industry leading support experience enabling business continuity. We support more than 28,000 customers with about 100,000 installations worldwide to safeguard their business excellence. We together help the world run better and improve people’s lives. As a Support Engineer, you will enable customers to implement and operate their SAP solutions efficiently by providing end-to-end support. This includes the trouble-shooting of product issues and providing resolution with the help of advanced tools, knowledge base and remote connections to customer systems. You will collaborate closely with SAP partners and internal stakeholders like consulting, operations and even sales. You will be backed up by SAP developers worldwide and work together with them as virtual teams to maximize SAP's value for the customer.

 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

SAP's powerful software and platform require a high level of expertise from our support engineers. Every support engineer will therefore first receive general trainings and then develop into a specialist in one or more of the specific technical areas. Your long-term functional career path includes the possibility of being one of the top experts in one or more technical areas. You can also prepare for a Product Area Lead role that holistically manage the operations in the corresponding product area. You will work in a multinational team in close cooperation with experts from all over the world with a focus on supporting customers from Asia Pacific and Japan. Next to technical skills, language proficiency is key.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

· Degree in computer science or engineering relevant · Highly proficient in English (spoken, written and customer handling)

· Fluent in Japanese with the understanding on the characteristics of Japanese customers

· Excellent analytical and logical thinking skill

· Open and professional communication skill

· Fast learner of technology, quick adopter to changes

· Strong team player

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Relevant work experience in IT industry e.g. consulting / support / development job for 2 - 5 years

· SAP related experience is preferred

· Oversea experience is preferred
