As market leader in enterprise application software, SAP helps companies of all sizes and industries innovate through simplification. From the back office to the boardroom, warehouse to storefront, on premise to cloud, desktop to mobile device – SAP empowers people and organizations to work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively to stay ahead of the competition. SAP applications and services enable customers to operate profitably, adapt continuously, and grow sustainably.

We’re passionate about giving the best user experience to the world’s business users, and user assistance (UA) plays a large role in the overall user experience. Our users are always at the center of everything we do in UA, whether we’re prototyping, building and delivering tools, or creating actual content, which might be traditional technical documentation, UI-embedded help, or proactive and interactive multimedia assistance. So if you’re excited about the multifaceted world of user assistance, you’re probably just who we’re looking for.

As part of the UA Content, Services and Infrastructure unit, you’ll help drive innovation in all areas of user assistance from prototyping to delivering the actual tools and infrastructure. You really enjoy working with a variety of people, including customers, product teams, and other colleagues in user assistance, as they all help you validate and adopt new concepts. You’re a real team player in a team that provides the infrastructure, expertise, and services to support operational business, and enables other teams to create and deliver state-of-the-art user assistance content.

Working in the UA Prototyping Lab in Dublin you’ll be part of an award-winning rapid-prototyping team working with colleagues and customers in various international locations. If you enjoy solving problems, testing out ideas, learning about new technologies and tackling projects that would make lesser coders shake in their boots, you’ll fit right in. You’ll get to work on topics such as:

  • Designing, developing and testing proofs of concept to demonstrate new ways of assisting users
  • Taking part in customer engagement activities to research new ideas and build them
  • Helping to set up and run usability studies to test our prototypes
  • Taking basic ideas and turning them into engaging and effective proofs of concept
  • Researching and developing concepts for the Internet of Things, AR/VR and AI

  • A really solid knowledge of front-end web technologies such as HTML5, CSS and JavaScript/JQuery. A knowledge of frameworks such as Angular and Node would be a bonus.
  • You must have a portfolio of sample projects you have worked on that demonstrate your skills and potential.

While we don’t expect you to know everything, the more of these boxes you can tick, the better:

  • If you know your way around the MEAN stack you’ll really impress us!
  • Animation and interactive web design using CSS and SVG
  • MySQL, AJAX, JSON and Websockets. A knowledge of PHP would also be useful.
  • Experience using tools such as Github, Jira and Trello to manage your work
  • Developing for mobile (Android, iOS) and using technologies such as Ionic, Cordova, Corona SDK, Lua,
  • An understanding of UX principles and methods, and a familiarity with wireframing and prototyping tools.
  • Familiarity with the basic principles of usability and how they affect software design.

  • Student presently studying Computer Science or equivalent
  • Top achiever in previous years
  • High levels of curiosity and autonomy
