The Services Account Manager (SAM) is responsible and accountable for the commercial management of a set of SAP strategic customers. This includes driving incremental sales into the existing client base as well as net new sales. The customer base will typically be in one or more industries. In order to achieve his/her mission and targets, the SAM must engage and leverage multiple stakeholders in the related SAP landscape (internal and external). This role combines business strategy and execution coordination as well as operational direct sales. The SAM will report directly to the Head of Services Sales for that specific industry (ies).



• Work with the SAP Account Executives for License sales to generate account level strategies for SAP Services

• Manage pipeline generation and deal execution, from initial value proposition through to contract management

• Co-ordinate the sales activities for the wider SAP sales support resources to a successful outcome 

• Directly interact with the SAP Account Executives to position the value of SAP Services into their accounts

• Directly interact with customers (from operations to C-Level) to position the value of SAP Services as supported by ROI, business case development, references, and supporting analyst data

• Manage individual SAP Services contract lifecycles including initial contract creation and submission through the internal approval workflows

• Demonstrate capability for moving to people management role in a second step



• University degree preferred

• Value based selling methodologies

• Comfortable and experienced with senior executive audiences and a very professional and mature customer interfacing profile

• Energetic and goal oriented, strong teamwork qualities (cross functional and multinational teams)



• 7 - 10+ years experience selling software related services or professional services

• Several years’ experience in the IT/software industry
