This location, with its infrastructure and dynamic development, will serve as a real-world lab to influence individual mobility behavior through digital and physical interventions. The project aims to test new multimodal mobility options and create a sustainable campus vision using a participatory approach.
The project addresses two key questions:
- How can participatory interventions transform campus mobility?
- How can digital monitoring evaluate these interventions for evidence-based outcomes?
The project's objectives include:
Developing a comprehensive mobility database and app-based tracking system to set industry standards in capturing and analyzing mobility behaviors and create and test mobility innovations that can be scaled and transferred to other university campuses and mixed commercial settings. - Cultivate relationships between SAP, TUM and Industry partners that drive partnerships in providing industry perspectives to academic research.
- Foster innovative digital mobility management initiatives, such as introducing a smartphone app to encourage sustainable travel and innovative interventions like an automated shuttle service.
- Develop and maintain a detailed Mobility Database to store, process, and analyze mobility data collected through GPS-based and AI-supported methods.
