About the Role 

C/4HANA Cloud Operations (COPS) is a global team that manages multiple cloud platforms running state-of-the-art SAP solutions. Our mission is to build customer trust by operating, optimizing, and maintaining a highly stable and secure cloud platform, shared services, and underlying infrastructure. We also establish standards, tools, and automation services to maximize the efficiency of the support and delivery teams for a seamless customer experience. When you join us, you will work alongside an agile, dynamic group of talented and motivated individuals, and you will use and be exposed to a variety of world-class tools and technologies, including public cloud, Kubernetes, and Docker.

You will be working within the Ops Innovation team of DevOps engineers that define and deliver the tools needed for end-to-end monitoring of systems used by our internal and external customers. Within this team your responsibilities include the engineering, introduction, integration and automation of state of the art tools used today for monitoring.

As a Digital Experience Monitoring specialist, you will be a reference person for everything related to a modern application performance monitoring within SAP Customer Experience.

Your knowledge about modern virtualization and containerization as well as application and service development understanding will allow you to connect with different teams and also help them in the process of root cause analysis.

Your responsibilities

  • Integrating, enhancing and customizing various monitoring solutions to meet customer expectations
  • Defining and documenting best practices around end-to-end monitoring
  • Standardizing and deploying tools in different environments and datacenters around the globe via automation
  • Leveraging modern APIs for integration and automation
  • Assist other teams with troubleshooting and the root-cause diagnosis
  • Provide expertise to internal and external teams on end-to-end monitoring
  • Work with an agile scrum team distributed across different locations

Skills and Qualifications 

General

  • Fluency in English
  • Analytical, detail-oriented personality
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and work under pressure
  • Positive, proactive, and customer-focused attitude
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills

Minimum

  • Bachelor or master degree in computer science or engineering
  • Interest in working in the areas of application monitoring, system administration, cloud infrastructure and performance engineering/testing
  • Experience with configuration management tools (eg: Puppet, Ansible)
  • Experience with modern virtualization and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, …)
  • Experience with Linux operating system
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Powershell, bash/shell or JavaScript)
  • Knowledge and experience on Public Cloud (Azure, GCP, AWS)
  • DevOps mindset and attitude toward work
  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who excels in fast-paced dynamic, team environments and committed to getting results

Desired

  • Experience in Software Engineering/Development and Object-Oriented Programming
  • Experience with database technologies
  • Strong understanding of distributed and enterprise web applications
  • Understanding of Micro-Service architectures
