The Role

Design cost effective & sustainable IT solutions to support SAP’s strategy and meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Ensures the solution meets functional requirements as defined by Solution Management and Product Management
• Defines and communicates a shared technical and architectural vision of the Solution Train to the respective ART teams and other relevant stakeholders
• Defines non-functional requirements and ensures solution’s fulfillment of the same.
• Provides architectural guidance to ARTs
• Designs solution roadmap
• Drive architectural decision-making within the Solution Train across ARTs and manages technical trade-offs.
• Ensures the solution adheres to the Architecture Guardrails and drive adjustments of the same, if required.

Accountability

• Held accountable for key system design decisions in the respective ARTs, especially those impacting multiple ARTs
• Held accountable for adherence to architecture guardrails and standards

Complexity

• Makes architectural decisions and trade-offs at the Solution Train level across the respective ARTs

Experience

• 5+ years as IT Architect
• Subject matter expert in one or more business domain(s)
• Experience in designing large-scale IT systems

Communication

• Communicates and works together with other architects
• Works together with Product Manager and Solution Manager
• Must be able to communicate at senior management level, both IT and business
